Default Semi OT: What other hobbies are you in?

For years I've been collecting, refurbishing, and selling pinball machines. They were my love as a kid and when I was able to finally afford my first one the hobby really took off for me. My kids love playing them although not as much lately since they are getting older and into sports more, etc.

I do see a lot of similarities to this forum from the pinball forum, always many experts, people willing to help find parts and fixes to problems, it's great to have this available today.

Recently I sold off 1/2 of my collection (7 machines) to fund buying my 928 and create garage space to park it in! Pinball machines are a cool hobby in that you can buy cheap, fix up, and sell for a profit. I may have lost $ on only a handful of over dozens of deals over the years.

So what else are people into besides 928s???

I like watching movies. I have a 75inch w/ a 1600 watt surround system. Only problem is I only get to crank it up when the wife and kids are not around.

My favorite pastime besides cars (928) which is probably odvious is spending time with my daughters 5 & 3. I am only teaching 2hrs a day 430 to 630 so I have a lot of time with them. My oldest comes to the club and is learning to play tennis which is awesome. She is really talented!

I used to play a lot of beach volleyball but all the good players have moved away!

I used to raise "Discus" as a hobby, always wanted to keep them when I was a kid. I don't do the hobby anymore, I sold everything back in August. very high maintenance fish if you want them to grow and stay healthy. I had about 12 of them.
These are about 7" with the tail, bought them when only 2", the tank was bare bottom so that the water change would be easier.
There are many color variety that you can search for, the fish pictured are the Tiger Snakeskin variety.

I play guitar in our band at church. We have been together over 10 years now. Lots of fun. Also used to play with guns a lot...have not shot in far to long though. Mostly I play with the 928's. I also like photography and videography, but those are lower priority for me...

These are shots of my custom guitars. They were each hand built by master luthiers to my specifications! Very cool!

I collect and restore antique clocks. Had a restoration business in Maine for about ten years, then moved south. Do it now as a hobby. Clock restoration got me interested in home machining (three jewelers lathes and a South Bend Heavy 10) and casework (spent two years apprenticing with a furniture conservator), which led to sitting on the board of trustees of a museum - I could go on!

Awesome photograph! There was a Bald eagle here the other day. Big bird, very cool.

One thing I have been thinking about doing lately is taking guitar lesson. Always wanted to learm to play!

I collect mostly 1/64 scale diecast toy cars. A little 1/43 scale also depending on the brand and type of car. As you may imagine I do focus on a particular type of car.

Tomica, made in Japan

One of many Matchboxs

One of many Hot Wheels

One of a few Sikus

WAY too many more to post.

You might want to try this in your home. I have this in my theater in my house. Gives you the REALLY deep bass without loud volume levels. Adds a whole new dimension to your movies! With the addition of the 1900 watt buttkicker amp I throw about 3500 watts out of the whole system. Not just for loud but for headroom on the times you need it!
