Dr. Bob,
I believe that Prestone recently stopped G-05 production leaving only Valvoline as G-05 coolant producer.
Valvoline web site has a service center locator.
Their Valvoline service centers and Sears Auto Centers are supposed to have G-05 coolant.

I switched to G-05 this spring and two months later the waterpump started to leak I cant blame the anti freeze because I have no idea how old the pump was. Just tossing it out there to see if anyone else have seen that

Came across "Genuine Porsche Coolant / Antifreeze" on Pelican. Thoughts? Is it worth the price over the G-05 or is the same stuff, and they are charging for a label?

I noticed that my local auto parts store is stocking the Peak Long Life in the blue bottle and their website claims it is silicate and phosphate free just like the Global stuff in the gold bottle.

compare charts

http://www.peakantifreeze.com/referencechart.html

http://sancarlosradiator.com/images/...-%20Z-1217.pdf

Peak global is amber, Peak lifetime is yellow, Zerex says Porsche switched to Amber. I would go with the Global amber (I did) though the yellow Peak seems compatible and good.

I believe the best coolant for MY 928 is Peak Global. And despit the lifetime or 5 year claims I would still change it somewhat regularly.

Since I have five cars to flush this spring, I'm picking up a bulk supply of this:

For you guys having a hard time finding Zerex G-05... aren't there NAPA stores pretty much everywhere in the U.S.?

That's where I always get mine. I've never had a problem getting it in any of their stores around town I happened to go to.

Zerex G-05 at NAPA, $10.49/gallon.

For some reason in the last couple of weeks NAPA has not been stocking Zerex G-05. You can still have them order it though.

I recently bought several gallons of the MB antifreeze for $17.88 per gallon, with free shipping from Amazon. No cost or time for going to the moderately user/customer-friendly MB dealer when I get it this way.

Ed,
That's a great price on the Zerex.
I buy it wholesale in boxes of 6 for that price.

It looks like I'll be going this route as well, since the Zerex G-05 is not available in our area. MBForums reports that the Mercedes coolant is essentially the same thing.
