Default New Speakers, Orignal Grills--How?

I have installed a set of MB Quart 4 inch speakers in the doors. I could not use the original speaker grills as the previous owner had changed the speakers to Boston Acoustics and thrown all the original stuff out.
I have a pristine set of original speaker grills but can't see a way to mount them to the MB Quarts.
Do you have to have original Porsche speakers to use the original grills??

I don't know if this helps DanielD, but I went to a car audio place and sifted around for some grilles that looked stock-- found something that was pretty close, but doesn't fall apart every time I shut the door.

3M makes a strip caulk product that you could use to simply press fit the factory grills over the aftermarket speakers that is a good product that will keep them on even with door slams. I have aftermarket grills of perfed steel that look close to factory and come in several sizes for about every application.

I installed new 4" component speakers in the doors using the factory grills, by cutting out the speaker ring from factory speakers and reinstalling the ring with the new speakers. This was on my 1990 S4 that came with a factory ten speaker system.

I went to a local place called TAP plastics and they cut a 3/4" ring out of 1/8" stock ABS plastic. I had them measure the inside of the original speaker grills and they cut the circle to fit perfectly. Then I had them cut a smaller circle out with a hole saw so I could locate the new speaker using the original 4 . The ABS piece fits closest to the door panel, then the speaker/screws and the popped the original grill. I did a similar thing for the smaller speakers but mounted 1" tweeters on the ABS.

Thanks for all the ideas; all are good! I would like to find a pair of factory speakers and cut the mount ring out as borland suggests. The trick is to find them!!!
3M might do the trick too.
