Thanks, got it off. You were right, not a lot of mess.

The bolt securing the hoses were rounded, but can't find it in PET. Anyone have the part no for the center bolt?

don't have the part number, but here are specs from post #4. sure you can find at local hardware or auto parts store

the cap screw has a washer attatched and is 26 mm to the head with 21mm of thread, overall about 34mm including the allen head

I just replaced my oil cooler on the 93 GTS and thought I'd add a couple pictures to this thread in case anyone searched on it later. An embarrassingly easy job - but kind of messy due to oil spilling when you first disconnect the lines.

Earlier in this thread you'll see a post from Roger about having a supplier providing rebuilt coolers. He said he no longer uses them; so, our only option is to buy a new one or try taking it to a radiator shop for repair. If you think a radiator is expensive, wait 'til you buy one of these. Just another reason to make sure ride height is correct.

I smeared a little oil on the O-rings before I put them in place and so far no leaks. But, for peace of mind, if I had to do it again I would've put a little drei-bond, honda-bond, etc. on the rings.

I have one with a leak sitting on the shelf. Has anybody dissected one of them?

From professional experience, dissection is typically a one way street. If the goal is to have it repaired successfully, contact the folks at Pacific:

Speaking of trashed/damaged oil coolers...if anyone has one and are willing to drill out the rivets I need a few of the belly pan hooks. My cooler is fine, but a few hooks are missing. Let me know if you can help!

Any idea of what they charge to repair one?

Roger offered it as a service, but it cost more than my cost on a new cooler, back then.

They fixed a stripped mounting hole on the cooler on my GTS and did an ultrasonic cleaning for $150 back in 2010. Not sure what a welding repair would cost.

Thanks for the info. Did you make a post on here about them? Did a quick search and didn't see anything...
