That's what everyone calls it as I did also, but it certainly is on the larger side of 80,

The outlet ID and OD of the '84-'86 S2 throttle body is the same as the S3. The S2 is bored out larger for the 80mm throttle plate, versus the 75mm. (The S3 has small step just above the throttle plate.)

Depending on the cost to find a S2 TB, it might be easier to send the S3 someplace to be fitted with a larger throttle plate? (81mm? ) I have heard of at least one that was bored out.

I'm not sure how big of a difference it would make, but bigger is (most) always better!

Here is a dynograph from a catless mj. 85 US S 3 with RMB.The special thing about this engine are grinded cams with 0,5mm more lift.
The engine likes high rpm´s a lot more than a stock engine.
The chips are stock and no )(.

Maybe this engine likes a greater trottlebody? ;-)

Räd(ern)leistung = wheel power = 275 PS = 271 rwhp
Drehmoment (korrigeiert) = torque (corrected) = 377 Nm = 278 ftlb * .89 = 247 rwtq

Just looking at the graphs, it looks like the cams have been set with 3-4° (crank) retard.

The stock chips are killing the torque. The first peak should be higher than the second, and the second should start at 4000.

Cams at zero, X-pipe, and my chips should add 50+rwtq (68+Nm), and 25+rwhp/ps!

"even though this euro is not as nice as some that have been bought and posted lately it is super rare - only 42 (1986) euro's imported to North America and not all were 16 V".

How did you find that 42 (1986) euro's were imported?
