Hello,
Can a 928 SE owner tell me what kind of gearbox type this car has, G28/55 or G28/12?
I ask this because I have seen a 1988 CS with a G28/12 and was wondering if it was the same for the SEs or not.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is sure.
Confirmed by Porsche AG.
I know at least another 1989 German delivered CS with a G28/12.
This could be explained by the high speed cruising that the German highways allow.

But there are also confirmed G28/55 in both '88 and '89 MY CS option stickers? I wouldn't even trust Porsches own records on these cases. Actual cars and original parts in them are more reliable than some computer system. Especially if some '88 CS have G28/55 with correct '88 MY info stamped to gearbox.

That is why I would like to know what kind of gearbox there is on an SE.
I can tell you my car has a G28/55 gearbox on the sticker and in place, but it's a 1989 MY.
I have never had the opportunity to see the sticker and stamped number on a 1988 CS. I have seen only one in the flesh and have no thought to go under the car then![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Is there some Porsche writing that clearly tells a 1988 CS has a G28/55, or was the type only use for the 1989 MY?

Mmmmmm. Can't remember - although I've looked often enough. It's on some import paperwork I have but that is buried in boxes somewhere yet to be unpacked. and I can't get at a jack to raise the SE to look until I move some more boxes in the garage - I hate moving house.
