Not all the realys are the same. Even if they look a like, internally some are very different. Make sure you swap it out with a proper one. If you can't find one, put in a jumper.

Quite right Jim, and here is an even less expensive example of a Burned Fuse (Fuel Pump / Ox sensor) caused by a corroded CE connection, that stopped a ’91 just after its owned turned it off in a parking lot.

Just say’n we needed more info on the car .

Check your fuses (pull each one out, then put it back), check for correct size while you are doing them.
Do you smell any fuel?
Was that spark you removed wet?
(still trying to figure out how you removed one and posted in less than 5 minutes (scraching head)).

Are you sure the cams are moving when you crank the engine, look into the vent holes on the top belt covers (remove air intake tubes).

Good Luck

Here is a link to a page showing how to jump the fuel pump relay.

This will cause the fuel pump to run constantly. Removes the relay from the picture anyway. You should be able to hear the fuel pump running (if it is).

http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/jumping.htm

Go ahead and make the jumper as shown and stick it in a bag somewhere with fuses and spare relays. Someday you will be glad you had it

Well, that's one of many things that may be wrong.

What it will do is remove the relay from the list of possibilities.

If it starts, the relay was the problem. If not, we'll keep digging

But, it's one of the most common problems so it's a good place to start.

As mentioned earlier, remove one of the air intake tubes and look down the little hole in the timing belt cover. Is the belt still there and look OK? That's an easy thing to check as well.

There are so many little things that can prevent the engine starting, just have to eliminate them as much as possible, starting with the easy ones.
