Cannot Find on car
Where the heck is the tag that tells you the option codes for a car. Looked under the rear package area carpet on the 82 and nothing except the information on the spare tire. Have NOT looked in the 84 yet.
I also looked behind the tool kit where it was on the 951.

It should be under the rear carpet on the right side. There is also a copy in the warranty and maintenance booklet with the owners manual. I know, that does not help if the booklet is gone. The sticker in the package area of my 1990 is in place but unreadable. Fortunately I have the original manuals.

I have not seen an option code sticker in the trunk area on pre 84 cars.
None of my 82 or earlier cars have them.

If you don't have the warranty booklet, you may be out of luck if the sticker is not present. The next thing to do would be to contact PCNA, with your VIN. They can do the "Certificate of Authenticity", which will give you the details your looking for. The cost for the service was around $75, IIRC.

Paint to sample... custom job. I think that was the code given to ANY car with a Paint to Sample color option...I could be wrong as I have not looked at the code info in a long time, but I think that is what the code means.

Research on my part found that as usual you are correct paint L999 is paint from customer sample.
BUT when trying to get the interior color there is no such code as "VY"
In our sample books it LOOKS LIKE Champagne II. But want to take the car back to the original color. will probably just get a sample and take it to the lab and mix that color. Only worry is WHICH shade of the 5 that are in the car

I would say the car is original as the seller stated and the owner before him also stated when I spoke to him on the phone. First owner bought new and is older than me the owner that got it dinged was about 25 I would guess.
