Brendan,

I have an OEM Porsche 928 cover sitting in my garage.

Its the fitted 928S4 one with the mirror pockets, Porsche crest with "PORSCHE" on the front, storage bag, and security lock.

I think I paid $150 for it 5-7 years ago (it was used).

I had not thought of a price for it because it is such a rarity (sp?), so I was going to put it on ebay at $1.00.

Maybe I have some pics of it on the car. I will look, and reply.

Cheers,
Mike

Bingo,

Brendan here are the pics...

The cover is in good shape. There is a scuff mark or to on it. It has the reinforced hole in the top for the S4/GTS antenna. Also, bear in mind that in the pics, the cover is on a very modified front bumper cover, and a Strosek rear wing, so it is very tight. It fits perfectly on stock S4/GTS.

I first had a one of those generic covers, but the fit was horrible! It also hung to the ground in the front or rear. You could not tell there was a Porsche under it, or a 1985 K-Car.

What say $150 +ship?

Merry Christmas,
Michael

Thanks Michael, but I was specifically looking for a "thicker" item. Sort of more like a multi-layered one with soft on the inside and some padding, and then a dust free top.

Thats a very pretty cover though! I'm sure that if you advertise that here you can get close to your price.

Thanks agian.

Plus one for the form fit griots cover. Its not thick enough to protect from a harder impact or scrape like a bike falling on it but it will prevent scratches due to rubbing or minor bumps.

Just a(nother) data point from me on how NOT to care for your 928- I got a cover with the GTS- Not sure what vintage it is- I also have the newer Porsche cover that is much more silvery in color (like Michael's pics show) Anyway, the GT has been living outdoors under it and it was filthy, so I ran it through the washer, then popped it in the drier without thinking about whether that might be a bad idea.

It was a bad idea:

Yep. Thats on it now. It doesn't just disintegrate when you wash it.

Yes, that grey cover is what I had mine covered with. It was outdoors and it ruined my clearcoat.
