OMG!

Todd is one that will casually mention something like modifying floors to fit turbos and then one day it actually happens!

He makes it look easy now but that's an accomplishment to take a new idea, make it into something real and see it through to completion.

I remember looking under my first 928 20 years ago for places to put turbos. There was obviously no way to put them in their ideal location at the end of manifolds. It takes real genius to keep looking, thinking and making a place.

Are they low enough to scavenge from the pan or are you running pumps? Looks like a well planned design, but a shame to hide all that beauty down there!

There's a way. A lot of fabrication, but a way indeed. I'll show ya in the spring.

But it all comes down to what the car is designed to do.....for a powerful street car, with SHORT bursts of full power, it should work....but for a racecar.....with extended times at WOT.....it will get quite hot
You have a very valid point, not trying to downplay that. It's just hard to comprehend the amount of air these fans move unless you actually see them in person. You can feel the IC cool off when he turns them on.

It's also a testament to how good the stock radiator is, assuming it’s in tip-top shape.

Todd modified the radiator bridge to run his red car without a thermostat. I can only assume he’s going to do the same on this car. What he may loose in efficiency is a worthwhile tradeoff to keep the heads as cool as possible for detonation prevention. Especially on a turbo car which will have a tendency to heat up the heads more so than the supercharged car would.

I’m not sure what kind of coating, or maybe an inconel blanket for the turbo’s, is going to be used. All of those details are still somewhat on the table.

The thought process for this project goes back at least a decade. It’s been on the back of his mind for a very long time, since he first started working an a different supercharged red 928S4 than his. To grossly oversimplify it, one day it just kind of clicked in this brain. Then as you know, it’s full speed ahead for Todd. I’m amazing how quickly he went from drawings of the intake / turbo placement to a mule mock-up.

Talking about taking a concept that most would say is impossible, just look at your motor. Simply amazing.

There will be a pump per turbo for the oil. I’ll be posting updated photos as this project progresses. Last time I checked, the main focus was finishing the intake manifold. The pumps location / plumbing has already been laid on the dark gray car in the corner of this shop.

Those turbos are big. I assume he is shooting for something like 1000hp?

Where is the cover for the intake? It's going to be a tight fit around those trumpets... I also think it would run too hot at 100 deg F temps. Fans don't help much at higher speeds and that intercooler is huge.

Those are not ITBs. Those are simply trumpets that are the basis for a large single plenum manifold.

Yeah, that's why I was asking where the cover was.

Unless I can finally find him an ECU that does MORE than that Autronic - not less - which has been the case. Did you get the debrief from PRI?

My next attempt is seeing if the Pro-EFI that is making waves has individual cylinder trim on the IGNITION side - according to load. His autronic does. Nothing else seems to, and he utilizes it greatly.

It fits under the hood and will be very, very shiney. Unless I make mine that beautiful black chrome color. I don't know yet.

WOW what a project! I can't believe that amount of fab work that he is done.

Is there any concern of the structural integrity by modifying the frame like that or is it "stronger then original" now?
