Default Rear wiper pivot not going back to correct position

My wiper pivot not going back to correct position, it gets stuck down. I have lubed the heck out of it, this causes the wiper not to engage. Anyone have a fix for this or a used one to purchase. Oh; has anyone found a solution to the hatch receiver plastic pieces.

I know there is a rear wiper park position fuse. I'm not familiar with the wiring, but this could be your problem. Good luck!

It,s mechanical the unit works fine, but the pivot the fits in the wiper assembly compresses when you close the hatch. The problem is it will not return to its up position.

Ahh, i see. That sounds like you need a new return spring. Unfortunately, I don't have my car in front of me, but IIRC that unit doesn't look like it is end-user servicable. You may be able to do it yourself, but I just don't remember.

What did you use to lube it? I was having the sme problem with mine, but a shot of light bike chain lube fixed it right up.

I used marvel mystery oil, a special penetrate and tried lithium grease. It seems the copper bushing is sticking up on the shaft. I guess I need a new one, tried to punch it back in place and forget it.

Tuning in... Mine disengages after 1/2 wipe, but the mechanisim pushes down and springs up fine. Interested in your fix.

where the motor mechanism is mounted to the chassis the mount holes are slotted. If you have the motor positioned to far to the side the arc the wiper arm and the motor are take are not concentric and the peg on the wiper arm will run into the edge of the slot on the motor arm. this will cause the motor arm to disengage from the wiper arm and the wiper will stay at the far side of the window. IIRC to fix this you most likely need to slide the motor assemble towards the drivers side of the car slightly.

Thanks for the adj tip but I can move the wiper by hand with the hatch closed. When I open the hatch I have to pop up the pivot it gets really stuck.
