Default Inner CV Joint Kits --- Why Extremely expensive??

$150 per side, inner joint only???

Similar parts for other cars are $30 ish.

Mine are badly worn. Plus some very blue *****.

(Probably can't reverse this set. Forgot which direction they ran in, anyway.)

Anybody got facts on a cross-match with another car?

Need to budget a bit. Wife wants a Porken Christmas stocking(chips).

I've got one that's in decent shape. It's been sitting in a bucket kerosene for the past year. But take it out, wipe it down, and reassemble it and it should be good to go. Let me know if you're interested.

Reasons:

1. These aren't "other cars".
2. They have them, you don't.
3. My favorite: Everything I personally have is completely worthless. Everything I need is uber expensive. Once I have it, it becomes worthless.

Funny how removing just a few words can change things.

I suggest tapping the Mrs. or take matters into your own hands

Sounds like some of the electronic test equipment we have to buy.
You need one it is ten grand, you have one it is worth 2 grand or less.

Wow, 25 years ago I had this same discussion with Greg about the CV joints in my 914 being the "same" as for some VW with just a little grinding. This isn't about keeping your old pickup on the road for another year, its a Porsche 928, deal with it.

Oh? We should bend over and take in and not try to find a substitute because it's a "Porsche"?

If we did that with all our supplier parts more 928s would go to the breakers and fewer would survive. Those that did survive would almost surely be in poorer condition with deferred mx. Sounds like false logic to me.
