Relocating from MN to CT in 2010 with my 928 - what to expect?
I'll be moving from Minnesota to Connecticut in 2010 and I'd appreciate any insights from the group regarding what to expect from Connecticut authorities when I get there. What I'm getting at is things like a safety inspection to register the car, emissions testing and what is actually tested, etc etc. Minnesota has no annual safety inspection and no emissions tests.
Also governments seem to hate cars but actually love them because of all the taxes that drivers & car owners pay - what will be taxed as this car is made honest to the State of CT and my new town? (I think that for some time Massachusetts would tax a newly registered car as if it was just bought under a "use tax" argument - will Connecticut try something like this, too?)
I'm painfully leaving behind a dear friend who happens to be the very, very best 928 technichian of them all. Who should I look up for repairs in CT?
Thanks to all,

My parents live in Stamford, CT (I live in Jacksonville, FL area) and all I can think of about driving my 928 in CT is "POTHOLES". Geez, sorry.

I'm starting to look at 928s(noob here), so I checked the DMV regarding emissions:
I believe the emissions test, as it is currently done, is performed by checking for the cats, and running an OBD test. If the computer doesn't throw a code, you are good. If it fails, you have 30 days to pass, though if you fail, and if the cost to repair fix the emissions issue is greater than $660, you can get a waiver due to cost. This test is only done once every two years, which means that if you can get it to pass this year, that should be the last time you'll need to worry about it.
Safety inspections are done when the car is registered, for out of state cars, and cars over 9 years old. Either way you'll need to be inspected. You may be subject to sales and use tax(6% of value) if your car is not currently registered in MN, but you want to register it here.
A motor vehicle twenty five-years old or older, (R.C.S.A 14-164c-2a "twenty-five or more years ago" shall mean the number of years arrived at by subtracting the model year of the motor vehicle seeking the exemption from the current calendar year).
