Thats true, I just don't feel comfortable cutting a grove or modifying highly combustible products ( for me that is ) and the new oem injectors that fit are expensive.

FWIW the 24lb injectors from www.blueovalindustries.com ( I have no affiliation w/ them) had the cut out for the guide collars. I have had them in MY '85 for a few years now and no problems.

Just get them while you can. Those models were discontinued, the replacment is the newer Ford injector that needs a groove added to them.

Got the ford A302 ones on flea-bay 69.00 for 8 used ones, I'm going to ultrasonically clean them and then flow them both forward and back. It's a risk, but I like the "hands dirty" approach to fixing stuff. Getting the o-rings from Roger. RP: I probably keep the old ones until i'm back on the road, but after that I'll give them to you, if you can wait that long!

How much will the cleaning costs? Since you have an '86, the O rings are the same as the ones for the Mustang. You can get it any local part store.

It's just the quick search, which returns results based on 'relevance,' that is kinda crappy. The advanced search still works fine and can return threads or posts and sort by date or what have you.
