Bill-

IIRC Andy's got '88 chips now? I think I sent the '87-'88 cable to you and Sean - If you're done with my Spanner, mail it to Andy and I'll pay the postage - it'd be worth the cost to see the diagnostics/exorcism done!

Hi Rob,

Yeah, I'm about done with it, told Andy I have it and to contact you about borrowing it. Thanks for chiming in! Don't worry about the postage on my end, I'll take care of it (thanks for the use of the tool! ).

Ball's in your court Andy. Do you want to find out what is REALLY wrong?

Heck yes, but I don't have '88 chips. I can throw the tool on it and see if it still works with this new LH still. I will reimburse you for the postage also.

Time to put an end to this stupid charade.

Won't work with '87 chips.

Then if anyone in the Bay Area is reading this with an '88 or newer LH/EZK they have lying around, may I borrow it please for diagnostics?

I am hating the '87 year more and more regardless if the thing has piston squirters etc.

Check your new o2 sensor connections. If you used that ****ty universal connector that came with the sensor, dump it and get some real crimps.

I did this after having the exact same problem - stalls at idle at op temp - and it completely fixed it.

This is why I asked the question on pg 1 if it was a universal or factory part.

It's universal (per what I posted on Reutterwerk to you). I did the usually warm up in the cold weather last night until it got up to operating temperature and started running rough again. Got out, disconnected the Temp II sensor and restarted it. The sucker ran like it just stepped out of the showroom - idle was smooth as glass! Reconnected Temp II again, restarted and it ran like ****.
