Tony, speaking as someone who has worked on a few turbo 928's and owns one myself I can say that the engine bay doesn't seem to get any hotter than a stock 928 engine bay. I haven't checked the temp with an IR thermometer but there is no noticeable difference. The turbo's are mounted so low and rearward that the heat doesn't really come up into the engine bay. The wiring harness' have all been stock on all of the turbo 928's I have been involved with. Some have been turbo charged for as long as 25 years and show no more wear to the wires than a stock car of the same age. The fuel lines can be upgraded to facilitate additional fuel flow. It really depends upon the application.

After lots-o-reading and thinkiing I've had a thought. I'm thinking of mounting a pair of turbos somewher between the headers and cats. Having an exhaust shop around the corner custom making intake tubes out of stainless.
your thoughts please.......

You're talking about a mid-mount turbocharger - not a lot of space to do it, but it will fit. If I recall, Mark Robinson's current single turbo kit is a mid-mount - you can find pictures of it on Pelican.
You can also fit a rear mount turbo - in the space under the transmission where the dual pipes and those big heat shields are - a search for "rear mount turbo" will bring up some threads here, assuming they didn't get deleted by moderators
edit: Found pics of Mark Robinsons kit I was wrong about the turbo location.

I have always thought that if i were ever to go the turbo route it would be a rear mount turbo.I would locate it in place of the rear muffler and use no intercooler.I would also go the dual power adder route and run a 2 stage nitrous setup alongside

Don’t do a custom job, it will probably end in a disaster. Buy a complete kit that has already been developed. Doing the tubing for a boosted system is only part of the job. The rest of the system has to be sound too or else it will be a real nightmare. Since your mechanical abilities are not advanced, buying a kit is the most logical and safest option. Even then, be prepared that something can go wrong (head gasket blows or maybe even worse). If it does, can you handle that situation?
