Technology is such that some of the boy-racer cars these days (Lancers and Subarus, Mazdaspeeds or even VWs) are not too far off the mark of our cars, even more so for someone who owns a 16v such as myself. In my opinion these cars are less about all-out horsepower and the kind of street racing typical of the boy-racer types, and more about class and sophistication. Sure that kid in his tarted up Mitsubishi may be able to punch it and out-accelerate you on an on-ramp, but who cares, he's in a Mitsubishi, you're in a beautiful and luxurious GT, you'll get where you're going plenty fast, while looking and feeling better at the end of it.

My advice, like others have said in this thread, is read and learn more about your car and cars in general, and then spend your time making sure your car is in perfect mechanical condition, and then enjoy it for a bit before you start spending money elsewhere. If all you care about is big horsepower and racing kids, sell the 928 to one of us and go buy a LSx Corvette or Camaro.
+1

First of all, learn to really drive the car and maintain it in good condition before searching a way to increase its HP number.
Certainly more efficient and cost effective.

I know where you are going with this as you brother was doing the same years ago too. Arguing about "what ifs". What if doesn’t mean $hit. What you have right now is the only thing that matters.

Why do we have to get into this again guys.

Both kits are fantastic and the result of a lot of work. If you put either of these kits on your car, it will be a force to behold.

I think the Murph kit has been around longer and is proven for great power and durability as well as for fantastic tech support after the sale. Murph will eventually be the supercharger I put on my car.

But, the Kuhn turbo would be something I would also love to try. Different approaches to a similar goal. Wicked fast 928s. I am glad I have a choice between the two.

Also, IMHO these kits are getting to the maximum usable HP for a street car anyway. 500 RWHP is about 600 CHP.

I can't even imagine having that much power. The rear tires would not even stand a chance.

So,knowing that a kit is capable of over 500RWHP is plenty for me. I don't care if it is possible to go higher. I still want to be able to drive my car.

Ego check is over there. Did you design and build or just "help"? Perhaps you were just the wrench monkey?

One can spend $$$$ just to go from 12.00 to 11.99 and then just have it come down to everything going "just right". Either way, its an 11 sec pass correct? Im sure you would take it as such!

Tony, speaking as someone who has worked on a few turbo 928's and owns one myself I can say that the engine bay doesn't seem to get any hotter than a stock 928 engine bay. I haven't checked the temp with an IR thermometer but there is no noticeable difference. The turbo's are mounted so low and rearward that the heat doesn't really come up into the engine bay. The wiring harness' have all been stock on all of the turbo 928's I have been involved with. Some have been turbo charged for as long as 25 years and show no more wear to the wires than a stock car of the same age. The fuel lines can be upgraded to facilitate additional fuel flow. It really depends upon the application.

But I'm sure you knew this already. ;-)
