Converting central electric panel from Euro to ATC fuses?

Look for glass GBC fuses, e.g. GBC-8 for an 8 amp fuse. Carl sells a small assortment of glass fuses but you might end up with a lot of unnecessary fuses if you go that route. For example, 78-79 doesn't call for any 5 amp fuses, which come in the assortment.

Hmmmm.
Is the point to convert the entire Central Electric panel, or just to update to ATC fuses?
I'm going to upgrade an 84 panel that has the old Euro fuses to use the later ATC fuses in the spring.
I'm not doing this for the same reasons as everybody else. I want to have 45 fuses instead of 34 so that I can get rid of all the spliced in fuses and associated jumble of wires for all the aftermarket devices that are installed in the car.
Pumps, extra fans, amplifiers, HID lighting, etc. need a lot of extra wiring and fuses.
Just don't like the mess.
I will post pictures of just how I do this in the spring.
I will tell you this right now. I will do it Old School and I assure you that it will be simple, safe and look great.
Estimated time to do the work: 3 hours. I'll keep track of the time and post pix in stages.

I forgot to mention that the total project budget is $75.00 including the fuses.
There will be nothing complicated about this. Doing it Old School. No electrical engineering degree required.

Good luck, we'll send out a search party if we don't hear from you by 2011.

Step 2: Place ALL original wiring and parts that were stripped from the late model panel in a plastic bag.
Step 2a: Every time someone assumes what the plan is, take the bag outside, swing the bag overhead and shout "Why is the world full of people with negative attitudes with no inkling whatsoever of what the plan is?".
Look up "Old School" under Hot Rod building to more fully understand what the term implies.

Could mean anything, really. Cloth-insulated wires? Knife switches instead of relays?

JP, as mentioned above, search for GBC-8, GBC-16, GBC-25 glass fuses. You'll have to sift through the results because the search will also return ceramic and plastic fuses. It would be really cool if we could get one or more of our vendors to stock these. They really work great.
