Will you be driving a 928 in 2 yrs? In 3 ...
My wife says "How much longer are you going to keep that car? Don't you want to drive something newer?"
How about it, do you see yourself still driving a 928 (current or future) two years from now? Three years, five years, etc.
I drove my previous car - a 968 - for almost nine years and would have kept it but only allowed one mistress. Cannot think of a time I'd not be driving a 928, either the one I own, or some super-duper low miles collector car.

My car is 16yrs. older and I have no interest in a newer car... well, maybe a newer 928. I plan to drive it as long as possible, even if that means changing fuel type at a later date. Ideally it will still be driveable when my will is read 50+ years from now.

Tell her that when the car starts to look old you will replace it. Mine's 20 years old and it still looks better to me than most other cars on the road.
However, if someone were to offer a trade for a Aston Martin DB9...

I've been driving a 928 since 98 or so. No plans on ever not having one. But I've also got more than one 928 and a couple other cars and other modes of transport so its all good

Sure hope so, have no plans on anything else, except another 928.

At some point I may have to give up a clutch, and that could be the end of 928's for me. How much difference is there between an automatic and a golf cart anyway?

I want to go peacefully in my sleep like grandpa, not screaming like the passengers in the car with him.

I see no reason to stop now or in 5 years. My 89 has been almost stone reliable, has been beaten to death (or to what would kill most other vehicles) and just seems to keep coming back for more. My car is not prefect - it has some small dents, a tiny dash vent crack, some frustrating very high-speed handling anomalies that are now better but not 100%, a new vibration over 80MPH that I can't seem to isolate, and a seemingly harmless long-term (over 5 years with no change) whine in the drivetrain. But that's about it. For 213K miles and 20 years, the car still looks almost new inside and out and is the best transporation I think I could buy for anywhere remotely near the money I have spent on it.

I'd like to eventually pass on my existing 928 to my son.................he's 15 this year.
Thats only if I can find a GT in a prefered choice ext/int colour and condition.

My wife only complains about the money I spend on my toys. She does like our 928, and the Aero Coupe. She's scared to death of the Pantera, says it's to noisey, to fast and to low. OTOH, she knows that the cars are always going to hold thier value. I've only had my 928 about 9 months, I can't see us ever selling it, it's timeless. About the only new car I would by is a ZR1 Corvette, $100,000.00 is way out of my price range.

I see myself terrorizing the old people's home with parking lot donuts 40 years from now.
When asked what my dream car was, I say 928 because it was before I owned one. It still is now that I have one. There are many other cars I covet, but the 928 is the only one I can see as a car to drive any time I want. So, I'll keep it as long as the parts supply holds out and they'll let me.

Why wouldn't I be?
I have no current plans to get rid of either of them. Infact, I'd like another.
