Armrest rebuild
The armrests are both in bad shape. Had done my best epoxying bits on them a few years back, but I bit the bullet and bought some of the metal supports recently.
I started with the passenger side. I used lots of epoxy and gorilla glue in addition to the nuts and bolts supplied to get it back into great shape. I liberally applied epoxy glue around all the plastic bolt holes where they mate up to the metal support. I also gorilla glued the top edge of the metal support to the plastic panel where the door insert attaches (mine was warped all to hell). I needed a spacer here and a wooden paint stir stick worked just fine. All went together really well and it is solid as a rock. That's the good news.
The bad news is the driver's side. I knew this one would be bad because it was pretty much falling off the door. The story is that the driver's window was smashed while my brother was storing the car for me. I won't get into the details, but it involves a teenage nephew. The glass was replaced, but boy did the body shop butcher the armrest (I've attached a picture). There's just nothing left of it except the parts you can see - no frame at all. Wood screws (and 2 bolts) were keeping the bits attached to the door panel. Needless to say, I'll be scouring around for a rebuildable cork driver's side armrest.

So just a shot in the dark, anyone have a driver's side armrest that they will part with for a bit of cash? Must be in one piece. Maybe in cork?
