Default WTB: Dark Blue OE Floor Mats for '88 S4

Hi Everyone,

I want to buy a pair/set of OE floor mats for my 1988 S4. If you have a front pair or full set OE mats in dark blue around that you want to unload and they are in great condition, please contact me.

I have a poorly-fitting set of aftermarket mats, included from the PO when purchased, in black and I want to replace them with ones that match my interior. Poor fitting in that the driver's side front mat tends to bunch up around the gas pedal.

Before I spend a lot of money on Lloyd mats, just want to check and see if anyone has a nice set of mats they want to unload. I am located in Jax, FL area.

VTY,
Joe Taylor

You should get a price on part 000 043 154 10 - a full set of 928 LHD mats from the Porsche Tequipment catalogue. From memory they're not too pricey.

Presumably your interior color code is 4KV (Marine Blue)?

I have a set of Llyods and a set of Coco mats http://www.cocomats.com/ The Coco mats are great for daily use and really withstand wear plus they don't slide around. The Llyod mats have wear marks after 2K miles of use and most of those miles were highway so there was very little in and out. If I remember I'll post a pic when I get home.

Hi Paul,

Thanks, I would love to see a photo.

Do the Lloyd mats fit ok, IE do they or do they not bunch up around the gas pedal?

I am guessing that the Lloyd mats are my only option for a carpeted mat set.

Thanks,
Joe

Default Thinking about mats too

I have a similar situation with the 87 I recently purchased.

Need to find good Burgundy mats that fit better & look OEM...
vs the P O' s that look like Econoline Pep Boys close outs.

Was thinking about a set from Jager Eng.
http://www.jageng.com/garage9/index.php?cPath=50_100

So mats are on my 928 to do list ....... and the list keeps growing

Hi Tom,

I found some mats on Ebay, Tequipment ones, which from what I read are OEM Porsche mats. They are in a color called "chestnut", but they look dark red to me for only $70

Porsche 928 Floor Mats Tequipment Chestnut fits 78-95, here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...item4a9baf4d4b

They are also selling some dark grey.

Porsche 928 Floor Mats Tequipment Gray fits 78-95, here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...item4a9a93262b

Just in case anyone is looking for mats.

Joe

Ok here are the pics. Sorry for the lighting I might try for some day pics this weekend. The first pic is of the Lloyd mats, as you can see not perfect and flimsy. The coco mats are actually ~half inch thick.

Call Sunset Imports (Porsche dealership) and ask about part number 000 044 801 43
There's a couple of blue's available - Blue color code 4KV, Midnight Blue color code 3GE.

They were $76 for a full set of OE Porsche mats per a thread earlier this year (yes, seventy six). This post from Roger in the thread has the color codes and part number.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the photos, both sets look very nice in your car. My car's interior is a two tone, a very dark blue (almost looks black, except in the sunlight) and light gray.

Hi Hilton,

Is there anywhere I can look on or in the car to find out which color my carpeting is? I think its the "midnight blue" because of how dark the blue is. It would be great to know for sure.

Photo: You can see in the attached photo the dark blue of the carpet, specially in contrast to the black mat in this photo.

VTY,
Joe

Joe, is there a paint code and interior color sticker on the door jam of your car that will say for sure?

Failing that, try calling Roger Tyson - he may have a solution and can probably order the mats too.

Hilton.

Hi Hilton and everyone.

I called the dealship, Sunset Imports, and ordered the Tequipment mats, price was $111, (a bit more than $70 figure you gave), but they are OEM mats and in the correct color for my car.

Porsche part number 000 044 801 43 3GE, Midnight blue

According to the guy I chatted with on the phone, he said they had 28 sets in stock in that color, located in warehouses in CA and GA. So I guess NLA doesn't apply.

Thanks for your help.

Joe

Joe,

You're lucky to have access to the OE Mats, I personally think they are much nicer than the Lloyds mats.

Glad you got it sorted. The $76 was excluding shipping, back last May, so may have been hit by the weak dollar.

You should find the mats also come with some brackets that attach to the front of the seat rails to hold the mats in place.

For others reading up on this, more info in this thread:
