Question Porsche Mats....Anyone Have Access to Them?

I currently have a black set of OE Porsche mats which came with my S4 which IMO are much nicer than the Lloyd mats I purchased a couple of years ago. The OE have a shorter but thicker pile which doesn't compress and the drivers side includes a heel pad with the Porsche logo.

I plan on picking up some new mats over the winter and I really want to purchase the Porsche mats supplied through dealers.

I tried the local dealer with no luck. Anyone know where I might find a new or even a used but in excellent condition set of Porsche mats in Linen color?

TIA!

Afshin-

Pelican lists some Porsche Tequipment OEM mats with part # 000-044-801-43-5FV-OEM (http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...INTmat_pg1.htm)

But the pic doesn't show any heel pad, dunno if they're 'factory'....

Check with the usual suspects, or Sunset?

If you're looking for a set like these, I ordered some from Sunset, but it was many many years ago. It might be worth a try... The ones in the photo are used set on eBay now.

Thanks guys, I will try both and post back my findings.

Matt, I actually listed the black mats on ebay last night figuring someone else may want them. They have been sitting unused for the last three years and they don't match the GT's interior. I am going to take more pictures before they ship so I have a reference point.

Just called Pelican and unfortunately they stated that Porsche isn't really supporting the older cars anymore. The black mats sounded like a possibility but the colored mats haven't been available for quite a while now.

I'm going to try Sunset next.

Brian thank you for the part number. What color are the mats and do they look similar to the link posted above for Pelican? Have you compared these mats to the Lloyd mats and can you comment if they are the same? Also is the backing a grey foam or black rubber?

It appears Porsche changed suppliers or possibly the style of mat somewhere along the way.

Afshin, Here is some pics. Grey foam backing, not as robust as the Lloyds. They have a different style hook than the Lloyds also. They look nice but I don't see them lasting to long. For the price I paid I couldn't resist, I would have been disappointed if I paid $160. I use my old Lloyds for everyday driving then switch to these for a car show.

Strosek came with a set of those matts, the foam backing was coming off. I think the quality of the Lloyd matts is better. Put the LLoyds in the Strosek and Porsche in the 88.

I'm really curious how old the mats are that I have now (on ebay). They definitely don't look anything like the pictures posted by Brian. If any of you have owned a Mercedes, the OE mats supplied by Mercedes are very similar to these Porsche mats. Definitely a better carpet pile than the Lloyds IMHO.

I just called Lloyd to see what options they have and basically they provide only the Ultimat and Deluxe style carpet. They are the OEM for the Porsche fasteners only but not the entire mat.

I may just have a custom set of mats made out of Silverknit, just need to find someone to do it!

I can only imagine the mats that Paul would come up with- Two-height silverknit in a Pascha pattern with your choice of leather or alcantara heel pad and binding.......

Yeah, but you couldn't then actually USE them as floor mats. You'd have to hang them on the wall as art. Or... errr... buy two sets.

Afshin,

IMHO the OE Porsche Mats are better than the Lloyds Mats.

I recently purchased a set of OE mats and I agree that the shorter denser pile is superior, the Lloyd's mats have a thicker less dense pile that tends to mat down with regular use.

Also the embroidery on the OE mats is slightly larger and much sharper as well. Also these OE Porsche Mats don't have the grey foam backing they have a black heavy rubberized backing that makes them quite stiff and robust.

I lucked out and got the OE mats at a reasonable price on some NOS..

Porsche mat on the left, Lloyds on the right...

I'm learning something here.
I always thought that Lloyds was the supplier for the o.e.m. Porsche mats back in the day.
I have a set of Classic Gray mats with the Porsche crest which were supposedly a dealer or factory option when my car was new. They don't seem too different from the Lloyds mats that I bought 4 or 5 yrs. ago that I also have.

Matt the embroidery is clearly better on the OE mats, very obvious from the pictures. I tried several Porsche dealers to try to find a set of Linen OE mats with no luck. I think thare are a few black ones left for those that have a black interior.

I wonder if Lloyd has changed the quality of the carpeting they use on their newer mats. I also have an old set of Lloyd mats which seem nicer than the ones I purchased for my S4. I wish we had more options available.
