The Sound of 200+ MPH

Cup cars are doing 155 on the straights at Fontana, and Anderson's 928 with near 500rwhp was getting 172mph and that is not the longest straight around. also, look at the downforce that Mark's car makes. huge splitter and 30% more wing than I have with a lot more angle of attack.
I think the ford GT ran just over 200mph on that supercar show, and it was bone stock . isnt the quoted HP around 550? (i.e. 460rwhp)

Are you saying it should be more or less?
Even a high speed track like an Indy style oval I think the corner speed is down to around 160 MPH, getting back to 200 MPH by half way down the straight is going to take surplus to the drag hp to accelerate.
What are the Cup etc cars doing on the straight at say Fontana?
Rodent Track standing mile tests, Saleen S7 206 mph 750 hp.

Three Wheelin'
That was awesome! My kids made me crank it and replay it about 10 times!

one thing everyone seems to forget in regards to the 200+ speeds that Tim-Cheryl achieve on a routine basis is its typically at above 5000ft altitude (think 20% power loss) with typically 100F heat....so sure on paper a 928 will need xxx whp to go xxx speed.....but actually being able to do it is another story...
as always its easy to "bench race" dyno numbers and "performance" based off math-dyno runs....its another thing altogether to get out there and PROVE IT....
Congratulations to Cheryl-Tim for nearly 210mph....very impressive!!! :>)
& no I DO NOT think "junior" can go 210mph....I do think "junior" is faster around a racetrack, but not in top speed

Now THAT'S a serious car built by some serious people and driven by seasoned experts. Farrari's should be impressed. Thanks for sharing the video (audio). Wow...
