I don't usually give bad reviews, but you should first survey those who use it and how they use it. I used to have one and got rid of it. It's more show than go. Poor fit, unless you plan on welding it together AND to the car upon assembly. Just my opinion.

I was going to sell smudaaar mine, but noticed it was cracked at the cross. I am going to have to get it looked at by someone who can do more than just weld it up. I'm glad you found another one Aaron!

Its more of a requirement for Time trial and some light club racing. the car is very strong in the area that the roll bar protects, but in an extreme impact , it would help. the side of the car is extremely strong, but its nice to have a roll bar just to protect a little more just behind the driver. It is a strong piece, but can be pushed through the floor as it is only bolted to the floor via the 3 bolts and a small footprint, so its not really as safe as it might apear. the bars themselves are very strong and welds are good. Its much heavier and thicker material than a cage might be.

About $2k for a decent one. I had a cheap one installed in my 79 for $1200, just a 6 pointer, my first one was near $2k back in the late 90s., and the holbert cage was pretty good, at near $1300 but it was a deal at the time by Bugformance in Norcal. to replicate it, but better door bars, will be $2k or so.

Thanks Mark! What events start requiring a full cage?

Sent you a pm back Mark. The more I work on my 928......the more I am thinking of turning it into a track car. The Devek roll bar will also allow me to run a 5 point harness...till I get a full age installed!
