Default Pirtle's Guide ---- Dwayne's Guide

I've engaged in the joy of dropping the oil pan twice in the last 15 months. Pirtle's Guide helped me through the first job and is an excellent example of a well executed pictorial. Not all of the torque ratings are in Pirtle's guide and I found Dwayne's guide to have that many more pictures, steps and all necessary torque specs. Cybernet support is all about evolution and some member may even develop a newer, improved guide. But for the present, Dwane's guide seems to be the definitive guide for MM/OPG work:

Dwayne's writeups are always first class.

I have a bone to pick with him however. I asked him to do me the simple favor of a complete disassemble and reassemble of his car with pics and writeup and oddly enough, he wasn't too receptive to the idea. Something about missing bolts and misaligned body panels...

Dwayne - That is an excellent write-up! I need to do the oil pan gasket on my '84. I've seen pictures on RL with the 4X4s and got the gist of how they did it, but your write-up will definitely take the guesswork out of the project. Thanks again / Bruce

I bookmarked "DwaynesGarage" a long time ago, what ever that is worth.

The first step in each of my R&R jobs on the 89 is to print Dwayne's write up.
I just wish he would buy a 78.

Dwayne,
Thanks for taking the time and effort to create these!!

I need to update Dwayn'e Garage with his last couple of masterpieces, but as Greg said, it is worth bookmarking. Dwayne agreed I could immortalize his efforts in one place. Nothing fancy, except for Dwayne's elegant write-ups.

....and it probably wouldn't look like a 928 when I was done reassembling.... maybe a Toyota or Honda - eeek! On the positive side, it would be clean!

A 78/79 would be a nice addition and new challenge with the CIS! Maybe someday....

Bill has done an outstanding job of converting and copying these writeups over to the Norcal site - something I have not had the time or the "know how" to do. Another example (of many) of Bill's willingness to help others out with his time and "know how" - THANKS a MILLION, Bill!!!!!
