Default 5spd GTS FS in Canada Less than $20K !!!!

What are you guys north of the border asleep or something.

This car sounds too fantastic to be selling for so low. Estimated reserve is under $20K! for a 5 Speed GTS!

That one has been for sale for a while. I'm sure Todd and Wilhoit have already circled it and moved on to easier kills.

Heated Sport seats!

Todd and Wilhoit may not be interested because it is a Canadian car. Expensive to import to the U.S.

It looks like it's a US/Cdn spec car ...and those can be brought over fairly easily. Louie's old 87 S4 and my GT are both from Canada. Sometimes there are actual Euro cars up there (they have a 15 year time limit up in CA..so anything older than 15 years can come into Canada from Europe) and those can't be brought over easily.

Hopefully someone who will cherish this GTS will grab it ..

Oh yea.. it is also sans rear air...cool. Just like my 89GT..no rear air and sport seats.. Seems folks in Canada got it right when they ordered their 928's

In the eBay add the seller answered a question about where the car is from. He replied it was a Canadian Spec car. The mileage listed says 95,000KM but he later corrected it to say that it is 95,000 miles or 153,00km.

Looks clean enough and the bidding is not excessive. Most of the east coasters are asleep so they'll see this one in the morning.

928s that were sent to NA (incl both US and Canada) were built to meet the US specs (EPA and DOT). I believe the daytime running lights need to be disabled, the speedo needs to be converted to US mph and you need to get a letter from Porsche that states it meets the EPA requirements. It's been a while since I looked into this so there might be a bit more. Definitely some hoops to jump through. There have been some that have been driven across the border and "left" here. Some DMV's don't care where the title came from and were willing to issue a new title in the States..and since the VIN is the same as in the US..no issues after that. Kinda what happened with my 89GT..I still have the KM dash, celcius temp etc. Louie had to replace his speedo...but then put it back in when he got through the Oregon DMV.
BTW...converting a digital dash to US is not easy. The Canadian dash will not just toggle between US/ metric. For some reason they are KM only and the whole circuit board (or dash) will need to swapped in with a US version. I suppose if one had a "spare" US dash to swap in...and then put the original back in after the paperwork cleared..that would be the way to go..

Many things are bargains prior to the close of bidding.

I looked at another GT in Canada. Upon calling the Customs Office I was told a form 6197 must be filled out for the US IRS.
I called the IRS and they said form 720 and 6197 in must be filed.
Form 6197 is a calculation of the Gas Guzzler Tax. 720 is the one used when you make the payment.
The EPA rating for a 90 GT is 15 MPG I think which makes the tax $4500.

I hope I was misinformed about all this or maybe someone can find a loophole.
