Looking for a tool to tighten the oil cooler bolts.
I cut a 10mm wrench in half to get to the bolts and just can't get to all of them, the ones that I did get to were almost falling out loose. Just overnight I had an oil leak from dribble to pouring, it is almost gone now, if I could just get to all of the bolts. Any ideas?
Thanks

you can buy, off the snap on truck a short 10mm universal socket thats 1/4 in drive.
The socket is just a bit longer than the head of the bolts and so it will fit into all of the places along the sides of the pan to tighten the bolts.
The front bolts must be tightened with a wrench

I bought a snapon RSXSM10, discontinued, but they show up from time to time. Its a ratcheting open end wrench. Craftsman made some calling them Quick wrenches, and I think Alden must hold the patent since nobody else still offers them.
BTW the oil pan isn't coming off without the engine being raised up a touch, but maybe you could tighten a few loose bolts. One of the regular vendors sells a stud kit to replace the pesky bolts.

Sounds like you need a set of solid rubber motor mounts and a silicon oil pan gasket. The engine will run an inch and a half higher and the pan will be off of the cross member.
Removing alt and oil filter provides more access. Also, fan and fan shroud can allow you to sit under the car lengthwise in a position to better reach the front set. 10 mm gear wrench, 10 mm 1/4 drive long extension, also 1/4 inch univ. joint all help in the process.
Nice unusual wrench, Mike.

No need for that. Find a set of these, swivel-head box-end wrenches; I think they were invented with the 928 oil-pan in mind :

Sears when they are on 50% off sale has the best prices on the GearWrench flex heads. I have regular (non flex), regular flex, and a set of stubby flex. When they fit, they spoil you.
They don't fit on about 1/3 of the oil pan bolts. Not enough clearance due to the wide band around the box end, and any kind of box end will be trapped as the bolt extends out toward the pan in front. Some you have to use an open end wrench on, which is why I bought these ratcheting open ends. For the rest I use a Snapon FLXM10 swivel extension socket on a Bosch cordless impact.
