I have the 100% occlusion (all windows) set from Dave & Jeannie (928 Specialists) as well. They stopped selling it a couple of years ago after some problem with their manufacturer. Too bad. It is a godsend for preserving your interior when parked outside. I use it religiously.
I tried to duplicate it with a very simlar looking reflective insulation from Home Depot. It should work well, BUT it is not rigid enough and after a few days of use it starts to just collapse in. Also, it appeared to shrink a little, so the initial tight fit did not hold up. Also, I could not find a suitable suction cup. Adding some in the middle of the hatch piece would help keep it in place.
Anyway, I encourage you to try to duplicate the 928 Specialists set. If not, then a car cover is the next best option.

Do you think I should consider making them?

Anyway, the hatch piece is the tough one. So, buy up whatever DR has! You can cut pieces for the rear quarter windows from the Home Depot insulation, and if you cut them just right, they will push in and stay well w/o suction cups (DR's originals do that nicely). These are essential to prevent/stop warping of the rear quarter interior panels. The door windows might be made to press in, but DRs use suction cups. The windshield piece does not fit as well as the rear quarters, flops down a little and misses a bit of the lower A-pillar corners, which are subject to heat warping. But overall, the DR set was an incredible valkue. It has saved my car interior despite 210K miles and a lot of outdoor parking at work, and everything still looks close to new. I wish DR could find another manufacturer.

Hey, if it works as well as DR's, go for it! The Reflectix brand material at Home Depot and Lowes is not ideal (not rigid enough, seems to shrink). I don't recall what you used, but I hope it's better than that.

I wish they made a version of the California Pop Top (something like that) for the 928. Its a mini car cover, just over the windows. Hooks over the side mirrors, tucks under the windshield wipers, with some kind of fastener at the hatch. Small market, and three kinds of spoiler at the rear, and whatever reason they said they didn't make one for the 928 last I asked, but maybe time to prod them again.

Bill here are some picts from tonight with them installed and I have the suction cups and brass grommet rings too. The next gen will be heat sealed on the edges and have fabric edging. The proto-type has been working for years now, and I have just been lazy.

That's nice Andre.
I have the 928sp soon2bgone rear hatch shield.
I store it rolled up and the suction cups don't like being squashed and needs to be messaged back into a round shape to stick to the glass. But otherwise great for keeping the car temps manageable.
The 3/4 shields with single suction cup looks cool.
Help keeps them rear quarter panels from warping up more.

I like that cover that goes on the outside... I always thought those were cool. I think I have seen those for some small airplanes... Never found one for a 928 though.

Hey, Ern. I haven't had a problem with the suction cups warping. I've had them come apart and pull out when they don't come off the window. Been looking for replacements. Andre has some real beefy cups on his, but I can't find where he got them.

Andre - that looks great. DR used to get $100 or so for a full set. They are well worth that. I still have zero warpage of the rear quarters.

I try to pinch or at least break the seal of the cups before removing them from the hatch glass.
