I always figure some kind of accident is behind most bumper swaps, let the insurance pay for the "upgrade".

If the mechanicals check out this looks like a great deal

These rub strips are not like normal GTS ones - they are too long and pointy at the back - looks like someone just shortened S4 strips - they also look odd - like they are mounted too high up...

You've got a point. I think a little time detailing the engine would return great results. At least the intake isn't flaking... I'd bet a good cleaning, TB job and some heavy driving would make it right...

The more I look at it, I could live with those rub strips. I think it needs different wheels. I was never a fan of the twists on a 928... It needs some forged HRE's.....

IF those are GTS quarters and IF they were installed correctly and IF there is no salvage title and related shoddy repairs, the car might be worth considering.

Another red flag is the engine compartment, as it looks dirty and tampered with... Wonder what the thinking was behind the holes drilled in the air box cover?

As I said, I'm going through this very thing myself and decided to keep the rub strips.

They have saved the car from dings on many occasions, however careful I am in parking out in left field, somehow I seem to attract all those morron in rust buckets who open their doors with their feet.

I might very well be the only one, but the rub strips never really bothered me.

I never minded the rub strips either. People are like sheep - no matter how you try to be away from the flock, the flock forms anyway

It's a good deal, If it's a runner, regardless, The cost of the conversion, flares, mirrors with paint and bodywork may have very well exceeded the asking price for the entire car.

Car looks decent, I like the rear flare. Nice color combo, may just need some TLC and a PPI.
What's wrong with fiberglass, my car has a bunch of it!

Looks a little like mine for those of you who viewed my restoration /modification thread. This is a great thing to do to an S4 or any other 928. Paul's car will look fantastic when it is done, completely changes the entire car at every angle. Another lister's car is coming to have s4 F/R bumper covers installed and a full color change on his OB. Lot's of great things can be done with the 928. Alittle off topic, but the 959 replica I am building at present is THE hardest project I have ever been involved with, I have never fabricated and modified so many parts. The body was comparable to the original, after 6 weeks of work it is now very close to the real thing in appearance. The CL 928 looks like an average job, although could look better with the proper offsets/spacing and ride height reset.
