This is the best steering wheel I've ever had my hands on:

Was in a 928 GT I looked at but didn't buy.

To my eye it looks even fatter and meatier than the other versions of this wheel already posted in this thread. Notice the stitching on top of the spokes and the 'PORSCHE' LETTERS in the lower left section.

Was told by the seller that it was a $1000 Porsche option, but don't know the validity of this. One thing's for sure though: I would swap my airbag wheel for this in a heartbeat; just felt unbelievably good - and looks the part too (if only the color had been different...)

Regards,
Erling

Any 4 spoke recover pics??

The purple color is very unique! The steering wheel is neat tho with the scripting.

Well, we can all go to bed tonight knowing that the universal standard for good taste resides in Cambridge Ontario

But for the rest of us....
I'm not sure if 1980 still had the 3 spoke wheel, but if it did, this is an example of what can be done with it:

As for the 4 spoke being ugly, this one always get a lot of compliments:

And this is a standard black wheel, but with the metal crest:

And I am not fishing for a job, really.
The best wheel for you, is what feels good to you.
Good luck with the search

Hoops, you're referring to the Momo Club 4?

I don't blame you...Personally, I couldn't source one that would fit my budget.

If you're patient I'm sure you'll find it...Please post pics when you do.

I'm with Imre on this one. The four spoke has that rectangular design that clashes with the organic flowing lines of the 928.

But the biggest issue for me is the 1970's Mercedes sedan/school bus proportions. The wheel is huge. The first time I drove one I was like, you have to be kidding me.

I put a Momo 350mm wheel on mine, and holy cow, what a difference. Its like driving a completely different car. It feels much more responsive. Its what it should have come with in the first place.

My current Momo is the Mod 07 which is a bit rice for me, but it was an experiment of sorts. I'll be upgrading to something that fits the character of the 928 a bit better one of these days.

Although Paul and Rob your work is amazing, no doubt.

Here is my "928 RS Sport" wheel which I purchased from 928 Specialists. It is made by Momo and originally designed for the factory Carerra RS. I believe 928 Specialists swopped out the Momo hub for one that would fit the 928 steering column. It is listed in the 928 Specialists website as par # 993.347.084.80.8YR

The steering wheel works great for me. I would like to paint the silver trim with a black or brown paint when I have free time on my hands to match the rest of the interior.

Good luck in your search for steering wheel nirvana!

Yeah, that's mine, bought about 8 years ago. I believe they were long ago discontinued.

Default 930 wheel

I like the looks of it too... ah soon, can't drive the car yet!!!

The 928 steering wheel isn't big till you drive a 70's dodge truck... what a steering wheel the thing was huge!

I have no idea what Itallian company made my wheel but, the hub is Momo and so it the horn button. I had to re drill the hub to use this wheel. Don't have a pic yet but will take one this week. My entire car is "has where it coutns" so please look at it as if you were watching the Road Warrior!

Last night I blew the doors off a C6.....and he started it!
