The photo shows a GTS. The discolored area is a section i plan to remove from the stock quarter from an OB. The white lines are where I plan to cut and attach the section required to use the OB rear end.

Blythe, it looks like a decent plan for the rear of the quarter... have you forseen any issues with the forward end of the quarter or blending the window frame?

(btw, Mythril... somebody's into WoW, huh? Around here the material of choice is Unobtanium)

Mythril from Lord of the Rings of course, I'm not sure what WOW is.... The upper section will be welded under the upper drip molding. This way the blending will be hidden. The reat of the attachments use the factory spot welds and are hidden under the felt weather stripping. the rear quarter window of course will hide those factory/new spot welds. I think the most tedious chore will be removing all the factory spot welds and smoothing them down for the new section. The rear section looks to follow the same exact line as the original.

S4ordie is in the process of doing the same procedure to his S4. I have been analyzing the pictures he posted for ideas and guidance to do mine.

Here, it seems to be used for any NLA item that, if it can be found, is now 2-3 times retail...

That car ended up getting parted out, and the frame was chopped up and hauled off to a wrecker. I went to Cali to look at the engine which was claimed to have been built from a brand new S4 short block. Ended up not being true, it was just a 78-79 engine with the engine block number shaved off. The interior was being sold as a complete black interior in good condition. Looked at that too for Roger, ended up being a complete Brown interior that the PO had painted completely black all the way down to the carpet on the side door covers....

IIRC, he was also involved in selling an S4 to another Rennlister which turned out to have the front suspension and brakes off a '79, and yet the community seemed to think it was all unwitting and not a problem of his making (I recall at the time he had a story about sick family member or child or something - reeked to me of scam and cover story, but hey, I'm a heartless cynic). It all seemed just a little too conicidental to me given he was "restoring" a 78/79.

^^^^ Yes, story was he sold the S4 to some guy that had to pay for it with payments. The guy stopped paying or didn't pay at all so he got the car back. Turns out the purchaser of the S4 had a brown 78-79 that he swapped the suspension and Brembo brakes from the S4 he bought from BBX. And when he was done let it seat until BBX came and picked it up due to the purchaser not making any payments. Interesting that BBX himself had a 79 at the time. But I did meet him in person and he seemed like an okay guy....
