Well, this is an early OB car (79? 80? I can't remember) from OCIC... I can't remember the owners name off the top of my head right now though...

Anyway, they used the AIR rear end on the car vs an OB rear end, but thought it might be worth looking at anyway... It might be more trouble than it is worth to try and graft that old rear end on a rear GTS fender...

Tom, thanks for the photos! any better rear 1/4 shots? Did the po use the full sized quarters or a graft on type?

I'll take a look for better pics, but for some reason with the black color and no side mouldings..it's hard to tell they are even on there. Only when it sits right beside one with standard quarters does it look "fatter". My understanding was that these were full GTS quarters that were heavily massaged to fit the OB rear. From what we know now, any good metal worker should be able to hammer the stock fenders to mimic the GTS rear look..without too much bondo. Either that or get a set of Ott rear quarters and graft them on. ATB has a good example of how they look (on a S4 rear though)..

It is very hard to put together, many ways it can go together wrong and only one way that it is right, it took me hours to figure it out, even with a good picture of it.

My body guy said he worked all day trying to get it, he brought it to me in a bag.
Plus you have to have just the right tools to brad the ends of the (different length) pins.
A real pain to do.

Everything which has rubber in it. Eventually practically everything will run out and next small batch factory have made will cost 5-10x as much as now. If they bother at all.

I looked at the Euro Quarters first and they have more of them and one side is a lot cheaper.
Dave and Jeannie can give you prices.
Euro should fit and comes without the rear markers - just paid a lot of $$$ to get rid of mine.

Roger, what a great point... I never thought to use the euro version without the markers... hmmm I wonder if they can change the order for me? Now I feel stupid. Oh well, I was going to use the marker light as a placement guide for the cut/weld point for the OB lower section so I can use the OB rear end. You know what I mean? If I cut a line right in the middle of the marker light area on both rear quarters, I can attach them most accurately and easily in the same spot. This will also require MUCH less filler than if I have to weld a longer line.
Please excuse the crude photoshop diagram, this is how I plan to do the operation. What do you think?
