OCIC Paintless Dent Repair and Detailing Available
Looking forward to seeing everyone that's heading in on Friday!!
Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up on Availability of PDR and Detail Service available at the event.
PDR will be supplied by Extreme PDR.
We'll have Mike and 2 of his technicians available ALL day Saturday. Extreme does all the PDR work for Boardwalk Porsche and RUF Porsche here in DFW land. It will be first come first serve and they'll give estimates based on what you want done. I think the first available slots are open at 0830 or as soon as we have access to the convention floor on Saturday.
Jerrod from ON THE SPOT DETAILING will be available all day both days. He works quite a bit with Mike at Extreme and can take care of just about any job you want done from a detail standpoint. This will also be on a first come first serve basis, so get up and get in early!!
Jarrod let me know that his basic services are priced out as follows:
-Detail inside and out $25
-Detail inside and out plus hand wax $100
-Detail, claybar, orbital buffing (paint correction) $150
-He also can take care of carpet cleaning, underhood detail, etc.
Ok, as far as logistics. Jarrod will be avail at 0830 on Friday morning. Depending on volume of cars, he may do most of the washing on Friday, we'll move the cars into the convention center and he can finish cars needing waxing, etc that day or the next day before the concours. He needs to wax/do paint corrections inside, especially as it may be toasty hot OR it could be raining that day. It could go either way as the forecast has changed a couple times the last few days.
Now, you can still wash your own car if you want. Jim M. will have buckets, hose, towels, etc before you enter the convention center in a "staged" area. If you want Jarrod to wax or handle any jobs after you wash your car, he can do that as well.
Hope this helps some of the folks with limited time when they get in or who want to do more important things like instead of washing their cars!!
See y'all Friday!!!

Chuck-I'm definitely in for the PDR. I have a couple of dings on my driver's side door that need attending to.
Depending on the whether it rains on the way down, I may or may not need the detail service.
Thanks for making these services available, and I'll see you Friday!

Jarrod,
Do you even have any dirt on that thing?? It's one of the cleanest 928s I've ever seen!!
Herman, when are you planning on being here?

Just kidding - I keep her detailed, but she's still a car that gets regularly driven and has accumulated 84K miles. As such, she has some grease and grime on her belly.
I've always thought the 928 was a piece of automotive art, and try to maintain mine to that level. She's a work in progress, with items such as refinishing the D90's to remove curb rash still to come.
Thanks!

Chuck, GREAT WORK! PDR for me too... I have one on the '94 and one on the '81 that I would like to have taken care of...
Jarrod, NO CLEANING OR REPAIRS FOR YOU! Your car is TOOOOO NICE! Man, I can't wait to see your car in person! What a beauty she is! That color ROCKS!

Tom-i'll have my Langka stuff with me, and can show you the results I've had with it on my car. I'm pleased with the smoothness. If you have any touch-up paint we could do some on yours.

Assuming Bill Ball makes it, you can also take a look at his mirrors. He had good results with Langka as well.
Only issues I've had is if I put a clearcoat on top of the repair:
- The clearcoat leaves a "hump" because you don't smooth it down (would remove it all and defeat the purpose)
- The clearcoat darkens the repair and makes it stand out, or at least it does on mine.
This has led me to go without the clear, and I've experienced no unsatisfactory results so far.

And to think I just got both my cars out of the paint shop. Sigh,,,,,,,
Good plan though, make use of it. I may have one of my cars detailed.
