Daniel, I think I saw that one for sale too. I thought about snagging it but wanted to get mine going first before I get another project haha, nice snage again.
Thats a nice car, check the flex plate before driving it too much.
It was in the shop in October last year and had the thrust bearings replaced. P/N was 900005212200, 2 each. I hope they would have noted problems with the flex plate at that time. The previous owner said all was well there... FWIW...

Im a little confused, has the engine been opened ?
you can check the flex plate and end play your self, its very easy.
I think maybe the convertor bearings 900 052 122 00 were changed which if so means the transmission was out which really means that the CRANKSHAFT end play needs to be checked. Changing thrust bearing involve an engine REBUILD something like $10,000. The convertor bearings is around 10 hours often done with a torque tube r and r .
James, you're right. It was the converter bearings and the bill was no where near $10K. All of the receipts came with the car... Looks like maybe from day 1, first owner.
since the trans was dropped and reinstalled that GREATLY increases the possibility that the torque tube was out also. If so it is easy for the clamp flex plate at the flywheel (engine) to have been preloaded in the process. It would be good to check and be sure that the flex plate is not under pressure and trying to push the crankshaft out the front of the engine at the same time measure how far forward and backward you can move the flywheel. You can then tighten the new bolt you get for the clamp might consider one of the add on clamps as well.

Added to the list of to do's which is growing larger the day. You guys are great resource. The information here is invaluable to any owner.
I want to throw that surging at idle issue out again here. When the car is cold, it does not do it. It idles fine. I moved the throttle and can hear the idle switch clicking. Any more suggestions???
