Default whats wrong with this 928??????

This is a 1980 Euro S 928.....there is a serious mechanical problem...can you figure out what it is....(those of you that I told please refrain for a day or so)....

It was parked for 4+ years.....I bought it...changed all fluids, replaced the starter-fuel pump & filter, distributer cap, checked the TB-waterpump (looked great) & fired it up.....

there is a serious issue with it.....but can you guess it????

The video and audio sucks! I'm not too sure....I was trying to hear a bad lifter or knock but...... rev it up a bit and quit moving the camera all over!

All your gauges normal? Oil pressure ?
Move your ear around and try to isolate the area, You checked the belt, you need to replace it, did you let something rub when you put it back together!
Could be the lifters its hard to hear, put some Seafoam in the oil and let it idle it should quite down.

Focus ....

Are you sure thats a Euro S and not a plain Euro, kinda skinny looking intake tubes and I didn't see any casting numbers on them (OTOH focus).

Seemed like a lot of noise and the Aux fan was running, but no guess here.

Brian
did you check the compression, do the piston rings break on the 16 valves when starting after they have been sitting for too long ?

The Main
fan also, seems like it's not turning. That noise maybe the vacuum pump its hook to the fan.

Is this a test where you already know the answer or are you truly interested in diagnosing a problem. Video and audio is bad. Not much to go on.

can hear more through the tail pipe than under the hood, possible bad miss. just for grins am going to guess either broken valve spring or smoked piston- but hey the a.v. sucks. btw is that on o.e.m. phone in there? and if so does it have the monster huge box in the hatch? have only seen in the wsm.

agreed not enough to go off of to be able to know whats wrong.

but you already know what it is. So give us most symptoms and we can give more diagnoses.

The exhaust in the video smells funny. I guess leaking head gasket.

Sometimes it isn't what you hear, it's what you don't hear.
If it's been sitting for 4 years - it most definitely has locked rotors!

Seems to be revving high considering nobody is opening the throttle in the video, unless it is just the bad audio.

It's the wrong engine... it's supposed to be a 270 degree V-8 mounted upside-down...
