Default Brake pads

I did a search of the 20 pages with the term "brake pads" and really just want to know what would be some good moderately priced choices for an everyday driver 87. Not racing, just stop me from running into people who pull out in front and big dogs, never mind the cats. (sorry, I would never intentionally run over an animal.)

Thanks
Rod

I've had great luck calling my 928 parts vendor and letting them make a recommendation. Of course, I have 50k on the 'new' pads and they are maybe half used, so I don't tax the stopping capacity much. Must be getting old... Oh, PBR Metal Masters if it makes a difference. Low noise, low dust, good stopping once they warm up just a tiny bit.

In the same (slow) boat, I guess. Every now and then I have to rebed them to get rid of the squeals- do you find that the PBR's are like that?

So far, I am really happy with my EBC Yellow pads. The work on the first stop leaving my neighborhood and can take the heat of a track day with zero fade. Took about 200 miles to for them to bed in newly turned rotors and haven't squeaked since.

PBR's on my daily driver and zero issues. Got them from Roger at 928srus, and were at the bottom end of the price range. Very low dust which is very nice. No noise issues at all.

I recently got some Mintex pads from 928 Specialists. They work great, no squeak, little dust, and the price was reasonable.

Martin--

I haven't needed to do anything since I installed them. No squeeks at all. I do have the factory backing pads on so the brake pad pulls free of the rotor on pedal-up. I just try not to push on the wide pedal much, since it seems to affect gas mileage at least as much as the skinny pedal does.

I use PBR and have for over 15 years on all my Porsches and find Repco much too hard.

+whatever on PBR metalmasters. The low dust from them is the best part and they work great too

Well, I'm prejudiced towards PBR, maybe because I drink a lot of it, so I guess that's what I'll go with...

PBR's are hard to beat at less than $30 an axle set.

To the best of my knowledge PBR, Repco and Axxis are one in the same.
