I've had that link bookmarked through my last 3 computers. When it comes time to retire the computer I make sure to save that link to the new one. Never get tired of seeing Mark drive through the field like that. Definitely my favorite 928 video.

Man. What's up with those Vettes? Do they just have a tendancy to come off the track or do they have a tendancy to be driven by less skilled drivers? Or is it that they run back in the pack and that is how life is back there?

Well I would not lump all Vette drivers together as I know several very good and friendly Vette drivers.
There were lots of rental rides in Vettes because they were somewhat inexpensive to build. I think most of my hits were in rented rides. It is also true that the skill level drops off towards the back but that does not stop the guys with check books from entering. Many good teams will show up with several other cars and rent those out for $15-$25k for the weekend.

While you are at it remind your friend that the 928 was the first clean sheet design by Porsche meant to propel it into the modern age and overcome the 911's limitations. It's just as much, if not more so, of a true Porsche than the 911.

That the 911 basic design has survived until now is more dependent on 911 die hards not wanting to change with the times. Not a bad thing but it still has limitations in it's overall design.
