Default Stranded Shark in Houston (Dean Fuller)

Dean Fuller is broke down somewhere in Houston, we are trying to diagnose why his Fuel pumps are not running and have gone through the fuses/relays/jumpering stuff and no go.

His instruments crapped out on him shortly after this occurred. Is there anyone local that can give a hand?

I hate to bring this up, but with all the fuel pumps we are going through I can only think of ethanol as being the root cause. Wish I had some way to prove it that doesn't cost billions of $$$$.

I can help by phone if he wants to call, but can't make the trip down in person.

If current is being pulled, try reversing polarity, in case something is jammed in the pump - BTDT.

If it is a later car check the small + wires at the battery... if he has can get some wire run a jumper from battery direct to the fuel pump.

My car is a 89 model...no forwarning at all. Started fine. Started in drive a couple of feet and it just shut off. No restart. After swaping the horn relay with the fuel pump relay I lost the digital reout on my dash. But will reset with battery disconnect reconnect...dash lights for about 5 sec then nothing. Jump fuel pump...nothing. No injector noise or fuel pump noice or smell of fuel. Will check current wen I buy a volt meter. I know someone local but hes not a car guy thats helping me.
Could this be the LH?

Real bad day...we just found out my sons cancer is back and then this on the way home.

I was told there is a call listing for members that have said they would help others if they were in their location. I know this is somewhat off topic, I would like to be addd to this, as I am always willing to help out others in need.

Jesus Dean, Really sorry to hear about your son. The fuel pump is a real nice kick in the teeth. I like Jim's idea of wire right to the pump.

Dean, sorry to hear about your son man. Have you tried to start the car ones it cooled down? I know when the brain on my 84 died, the fuel pump would turn on when bypassed but would not work otherwise. So when you bypass your it does not do anything? I hope its something small and not the LH. I have a used external fuel pump if you need it. Www.azautohaus.com IIRC had the best deal on internal fuel pump.

I'm so sorry to hear about your son, and cross my fingers that he will be cured.

I also hope you can get some local help for your car troubles.

This is the 928 Road Help List. I don't remember who maintains it, and it doesn't say who on the list. My list is from May 2006.

There are a few people listed in Texas, but I don't know which are close to Houston. Most seem to be around the Austin or Dallas areas.
