See if Dean will get you a new blanket, because the one you had at the Best Western parking lot SITM '09 was not your color. You are a summer, not an autumn.

Doc-- O-scope with a long skinny CRT? I still have those. Need to find an excuse to get a Fluke scopemeter. So I can carry it around in the car...

Tangent--

My 'ignition switch problem' is much more likely a battery problem. 9 mos old Duralast. It's on the charger now, failed the SG test after living on the 1.5A maintainer overnight. Voltage is at 12.4 resting, but dips way low on crank. Everything pointing to dufo battery at this point. Free replacement if charging hard doesn't improve things. Film at 11...

Just got back from Dallas...CAR IS FIXED!!! I don't think I could of figured this one out because it was a faulty ignition switch...yep the one I just replaced a few months ago. I was so sure it was something else...

At any rate...its running. THANKS Sean, Doc and Roger. Even Jim S showed up. Good to see everyone.

I was so tired driving back that I scared the crap out of myself 3 times noticing some idiot in a 928 right on my bumper.....

Lesson for the day...even if a part is newly replaced ...it may still be bad.

Thanks to all...Devon and I see the docs again Tuesday to schedule his next surgury.

Thanks Don and Herman for you contact numbers. Great to hear from you too Brian. When something like this happens you 928 folks really do feel like a family.

Well, I'd like to take all the credit for the fix, but I have to admit that Sean had it pegged in about 2.5 minutes. So, I stuck to my specialty - drinking beer and telling raunchy MJ jokes. At least I get credit for finding a few rattles, they were custom rattles put in by the exhaust company that did his pipe work.

I knew his trip home was gonna be crappy. I finally towed my GT home. All it needs is a few PS hoses and I'm on the road.

Dean I'm glad you're back on the road. Now to focus on the more important goal of getting your son through the surgery. Stay positive.

Yes sometimes new parts do not work......the infamous Porsche green wire for the 78-84 distributor was a fine example somehow the connectors were indexed wrong !
