Default Roll the rim

Well, ive watched the video(s) but not much success. Ive got 17" Fuzions on the car, 235 up front and 275 rear.....the fronts are grabbing the inner fender lip so yesterday i heated the fender, took a solid piece of round fir stock and moved the car back and forth.....all that happened is the fender flexed out and the lip remains....i thought of having someone hold a rubber mallet or something against the fender but am concerned about screwing up the fender.....any suggestions on how i can get that inner lip away from the tire shoulder?

Die grinder and a careful hand, trimming the lip down a few MM?

Rolling doesn't work too good on aluminum fronts, so, yeah, die grinder is probably your best option.

thats why i suggest my way, which is a little different and uses a baseball bat, wood, NOT a straight dowel piece of wood. I should have video taped my process, but it works very well. If done right , you can bow out the fender and no one can tell its done.

Now the front is ever MORE tricky, as you saw. one wrong move and the lip bends out, not in. you cant use the same technique as the rear. you have to do it with the large end of the bat, or small end if the car is real low. You do it in stages. slightl roll by hand until the lip is bending back slightly, then a full roll with the lip already started inward. if you try and do it all at once, you are sure to have it bend out, as you have seen. to fix it, a metal or rubber hammer can bent it back. take the tire off and bend things back. aluminum doesnt stretch like steel in the rear,so you only get mininal results up front, but still substantial if you are careful.

2nd the baseball bat, since the taper allows you to size it as you go. Only did it on rear though....

Eastwood tools makes a great fender roller. Just use a heat gun to warm the paint first and take your time. I'm renting one and bringing it to Dallas OCIC for all to use. I'm going to use a truck adaptor because of the lug pattern, or make a custom adaptor from a Porsche spacer. Ebay always has a few. Part #31158

Never done the fronts, but for sure fir is not dense enough. You need something like oak. I've seen some people use a metal pipe, But I wouldn't as I think it would be too tough on the paint.
