Worse cupholders than a 928. ;-)

the center armrests pictured are indeed deeper. These are my own design, where I modify the original base with an integral extension. Porsche only offered a rectangular extension that was just screwed to the original base and made the box look weird in my opinion.
I tried to design mine so the shape flows along the lines of the original base. I also strengthen the lids so they can actually be used as an armrest.

Jason,
They are one inch taller I think...maybe 1.5" taller...whatever it is, they are the PERFECT HEIGHT (for me anyway)! They match the height of the door arm rest. They are what Porsche should have done in the first place but didnt!
They look even better in person. I have that blue one in my '92 GTS and a classic gray one in my '94 GTS and I highly, Highly, HIGHLY recommend them for ANY and ALL 928's!

Hmmm.... James, that gives me an idea.
Maybe I can talk Paul into integrating a holster on the passenger side of the console... where a phone would go... hmmm!

Barry,
He could probably do that but you might run in to the problem of it not being concealed... Depending on where you live that may or may not be a problem for you!

I may have to research the 'plain view' in a vehicle policy... I think it can be on the dashboard so the cop can see it.

You can have it anyway you want in TN if you have a permit, as its considered a "carry permit" and no longer says consealed. Of course the local LEO's might ask you to conseal it walkin thru crouds haha.

The last time I got arrested for a concealed weapon in my car I was told anywhere in plain view is legal in NC. Mine was locked in the Glove box when I got pulled over(brand new 1990 300ZX, no trunk to lock it in). I told them about it when they asked for registration and after they saw the Colt Delta Elite 10mm Stainless Limited Edition 1 of 255, they just had to try and keep it. SO they arrested me and took the pistol. Had to almost be locked up because they refused to give me a property receipt. Told them I wasn't leaving without one, after an hour of arguing and 3 members of my family showing up they finally gave me a property receipt. $400 to an Attorney a few weeks later and I got it back and charges dropped.
Ironically this was in Linville, NC (home of SITM) back in late 89 or early 90?

As far as the cupholder goes, I don't ever plan on having an open beverage (outside of a couple bottles of water for road trips) in my 928, to keep the interior clean. No food, no drinks, no messes.
Also sorry I missed the last 928 meet James, life has been frustratingly busy lately. I'll still see yall at OCIC.

You gotta know your rights for sure! Back in my college days, 2 friends and I were cruising the beach down in FL. 2 of us were of legal alcohol age -but the friend that was driving his Jeep (our muscle cars were getting tweaked), was not.
None of us had even started drinking, but somehow the cops got a tip we had a large cooler full of beer. We got pulled over and in a public display of power -the cops demanded we pour out the beer right there. Well my underage chauffer was worried about his license so he was just about to comply (along with my other sheepish friend) -when I spoke up.
I said NO. We are not dumping out this beer -because I am of age and I bought it. I showed my license and then my other friend 'found his pair' and showed them his license. The cops had nothing. They said well, blah-blah-blah and left.
We got a nice cheer from the crowd that had gathered.
