I am having my car repainted to include the door jambs which means the VIN label and other stickers (Paint Code, Catalyst Equipped, MFG Barcode) will be removed as part of the prep process. I know that body/paint shops can order replacement VIN and Catalyst stickers from Porsche but they look very different and non-original.
As the owner of the car I am thinking of reproducing these door stickers on some permanent type adhesive printing stock. Yes, I know this is not normally done for legal reasons, but it is my car and if I can reproduce the original then I don't really see the issue. Would be different if I were doing this and altering the VIN number in some way.
I will use some high res pics I have taken with measurements to make sure size is accurate.
Does anyone know how or who can print these out on similar/same sticker material? Is it vinyl?
All comments welcomed.
Does anyone

Market exists for CO3 labels for gray-market Euro cars brough in to Cali. I know that --I-- would never think of doing that myself...

There is a guy on ebay that prints labels, and some of the Pelican guys have emailed him about doing more and different ones like the vacuum routing diagram.
I believe most of the labels are on metal foil.

So metal foil stickers are available?
How about the radiator and overflow tank stickers?
To the OP, did you order the stickers from Porsche and note the difference after receiving them? What is the difference?

I have the stickers on order through the paint shop. Have seen them and they are very different and do not contian the same level of information. The replacements are all black and a bit smaller. Legal but not the same. I just really want the orginal look.

I've gotten a few pms about this so here is what I can tell you...
if you have a standard/common paint color (ie, guards red, black, GP white etc) you can order replacements directly thru Porsche, I did this just a year or so ago for a local
the punched vin stickers are a different deal altogether, if your's is intact I would put tape over it and trim before painting... otherwise, or if you don't have a sticker, you should be able to search around for a company that does foil stickers and have the original duplicated

Anyone ever find a place to order these? Mine were pulled off when I got the car.
Thanks.

My labels are gone so I can't just take a pic and have them remade. Oh well.
