Default S4 to GTS fenders

I'm looking to fit some GTS rear fenders to my S4. What size spacers will I need to make the wheels fill the arches correctly.

I'm currently running 17" cup 1's. A friend of mine has a 93 GTS with 18" Classics, his spacers were 40mm. Not sure if that's what it came with or if they were added when he had the 18"s fitted.

I'd say it would be a good idea to fit the fenders first before worrying about the spacers.

As recently as a couple of weeks ago, unless you already have a source for the GTS rear quarter panels from Porsche, they are all gone.

Surely they will make another run of them at some point.

When I bought mine 3 years ago they had 9 lefts & 8 rights in Germany. I asked how long they would be making them & was told they won't be making any more. Porsche's responsibility for making new ones had run out the year before (2005) since it was ten years since the end of the car's production run. He said they had to stocks parts for 7 years & produce them for 10. Of course if you make enough noise any company in any business is likely to make more if the price is right.

I don't know about that. I spent a good while researching where they were and even made a couple of calls to Europe besides the larger Poirsche delaerships here in the States claaing around as well. Feeling is no more GTS rear quarter panels will come from Porsche. Doesn't mean an after market supplier won't copy the presses and start stamping them out again. More likely to see more fiberglass options.

Isn't it a matter of keeping the stampings for the sheet metal press? Once those are gone there's not much an OEM can do... someone keep me honest here.

You're right, Porsche may have kept the stampings for the press but to re-tool the machine to make more would be highly unlikely, there isn't enough demand. Either way the cost would be most likely higher than that of their NOS. that is now used up.

I have the option of buying a pair from a burnt out 95 GTS. And a friend who is a fabricator say's he can make them a pair from sheet steel. We have another GTS to work from. I have read all about the availability of the Porsche items, & also the GRP ones.

I was just wondering about the spacers. Like you say maybe better wait until i have the arches on the car to see what spacers are required. Thanks
