What are the implications of a "not correctable" issue?
Does paying the fine entitle you to keep your tint forever?
That would be cool... they should do that with missing front license plates also: Pay once, be left alone forever.

As a believer in the positive, I don't recommend you get hung up over the sheriff not pulling you over. First off a sheriff never pulls people over and second would you feel better if the sheriff pulled you over?
Everyone knows its the CHP and bike cops that are the worst, expect a ticket everytime you encounter them, local cops usually could care less

If you do anything extreme, you'll get a lot more attention than when you make subtle changes. Sometimes that's not the attention you really want.
You say you have a pretty loud exhaust. That alone will probably get a lot of ears and eyes.
Then you say your tint is really dark. Again, something that's much more obvious than some lighter tint - even from as far away as a patrol car.
All that on an "arrest me" red car. I don't know, if they can see the young driver behind the tint, and don't know what driving style you exhibited prior to getting pulled-over.
One little thought: Maybe your car is more magnetic to tickets than chicks.

As has been said before on similar threads..... state/county/city budgets are in dire shape these days. When you have the govenor and mayors stating there will be personnel cuts or reduction in pay you better believe public servants in a position to issue revenue generating citations will and must do as a way to insure their livlihood. The reality is - having tinted windows is against the law. You broke the law. You think you were not treated fairly or that the law is unfair, don't waste anymore of our tax dollars pssing away hours in the legal system. You hurt us, not the government. Better yet, take that anger/frustration of yours and begin a petition to make 15% tinted windows legal. Directing your efforts in this way ultimately benefits us instead of cost us more.
As a stated conservative I would think you would be all for less government and less laws. Put your political postion to work.
Not trying to bust your chops here, really I'm not, but it is not productive for people to want to get even with bureaucracy or the system. You/we are the system. Thanks for this post. Looking forward to something positive coming from this.

Hate to say this Andy... Nicole is on to something. Red car, loud car, tinted windows, CHiP sees a younger driver in it & knowing you, 65? Either get used to it or take measures to make your car a little less conspicuous. Especially where you live.

Sow -> Reap. Any questions?

Well simple fact here is a law was broken and you got caught. Now is it a waste of time for them to harass those with nice cars and tinted windows, sometimes. But there are on occasion that a "minor" traffic stop, ends up in a huge bust of drugs or other things. I am not defending them, as I am on both sides, being an ex LEO and having all my vehicles with 5% tint on them. I would definately ask around and even talk to a few lawyers to see what they say, but sounds like you might be ending up paying the fine and hope insurance doesnt nail you. Good luck bra......

If you get a moving violation ticket, then it goes on your record, therefore could cause your insurance rate to go higher. So depending on what kind of ticket the CHP gave him, it could effect your insurance.

I was doing less than 65. He even wrote the speed (60 mph) on the ticket too.
