We found a new home for our '94 911 convertible . Joe Dyer's agreed to take her in and give her a good home. In exchange, we have the pleasure of driving home in his beautiful super charged GTS.
We'll be leaving south Texas on the 15th and crossing into New Mexico at El Paso. From that point on we're looking for suggestions on the most scenic route to the San Jose area and beyond. Recommendations on roads to travel and sites to see would be appreciated. I'll be on crutches so I'm afraid we won't be up to hiking or long foot excursions.
Leaving San Jose we'll head west for Eagle, Colorado which is on I-70 about halfway between Grand Junction and Denver. From there will head south for home which is south of San Antonio.
What roads and attractions can you recommend for the three legs of our journey? We would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,

Thank you, Nicole. We'll probably arrive in the afternoon of the 17th. We'll take care of car business and visit with Randy's brother over that weekend before heading west. We'll keep you posted.

If the 17th you mention is July 17, that would be a Friday, which should make it easier for most of us to find time for a gathering. We could do this either Friday evening or Saturday then.

I did mostly the same trip when I delivered a 944T to my son. My recommendation would be Hwy 1 south along the coast, some of the most beautiful country you will ever see. Then at San Luis Obispo take Hwy 51 to Bakersfield. 51 is a series of twists and turns thru mostly farm country. When I did it I don't think I passed another car the entire way. From there you get to desert and borrrrring until the Grand Canyon.

Once you're here, there is not much further West you can travel... except by boat. But some people have called a 928 "U-Boat" before...

At long last you and Randy have seen the light. You will now experiance the awesome power of a GTS with a real "rogerbox".
Cheryl dump Randy and I will come along for the ride.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

The 18th is our trip to Canepa Designs in Scotts Valley (near Santa Cruz). If you guys are still here, that would be a fun ride with a bunch of other local 928ers. And it's on the way to Texas.

Thanks, Brent. Do you have a link to your GT; I missed it.
Thanks,it would be fun if our schedule with Joe permits. Afterwards we'll be heading east to Colorado, then Texas.
Roger, we're keeping the 5 speed so we'll have a real car to drive.
