Thanks for the kudos guys. And yes, it was great to have my kid help out, she's a great kid and has already put her claim on my S4, although she also wants a honkin' big pickup so she can haul horses. Perhaps I'll find a nice automatic for her as I've got a few years before she's driving.
Took it out for some more miles today, still doing good, no leaks or issues.

AMEN to That !! Just tremendous looking job on those calipers. I have a 1988 Indischrot Red #0714 w/ turbo twists..17 not 18 . I was thinking the red calipers would be a bit much w/ the red car ...am I wrong ?? Also have been toying with getting an RMB, worry a little about the decibel levels living in a large Metro area suburb...hmmmmm.... Love to see some daylight pics..Good Job !!
I think yellow would be too much and black hides them too much, so I think red works pretty good.
For the rmb, go for it. I love it, sounds like what a v8 should sound like. I live in a very quiet nieghborhood and know all of my neighbors well, so I don't want to
bother them with an obnoxiously loud car (or my dirtbike). If I cruise along without getting on the gas the rmb is fine, I can stealth out of the neighborhood nicely.
Also, if you don't like it, they're easy to sell.
And I just took some pics after giving it a quick clean up, I'll post them tomorrow. Although my S4 is definitely a 10 footer, or maybe a 20 footer. The pics make it look way nicer then it does in person - lots of nicks and some faded paint spots, although the paint will bounce back when I have it cut, polished and buffed by a pro.

Happy to see that everything went well.
Now, enjoy it as mutch as possible this summer.
You (and your daughter!) did a very nice job with the calipers.
They look very good.
They are on my project list but not sure if I should go with red or keep them stock black.
Very nice job.

Wow lots of nice work here. if you get some simple green and a scrub brush then spray down the wheel wells they will also sparkle like the rest of the car does
On another note, your heater control valve has been installed backwards, the black portion should face to the front of the car, if you look carefully on the valve you will see a word Wassereintritt =water inlet, printed on the black side

Then putting in the new one, and STILL having heat in the cabin, I thought it must be a dreaded vacuum issue. I was bummed.
I can't wait to flip it around and see how it works.
And for the fender wells, no doubt, I'll be back in there. You wouldn't believe how much caked on crud there was on the car, mainly on the drivers side, as the power steering had been leaking for some time, well before I bought it.
I spent hours cleaning up under the engine and body. When it came to the fenders, I just didn't have the energy, nor the patience.
Its amazing how baked on 20 years of oil, road grime, and atf can be, it's stuff is tough to get off.

If you have to remove grease/oil deposits then I would suggest first a spray down of the parts with some Engine Gunk and scrub, this will remove most of the tough stuff.
Then a followup with simple green and water rinse, the paint work in the fender wells is so good you will think you just bought a new car. Good luck and nice work, Keep em flying, Stan

looks like a fun weekend of work.... I mean DOH :bangshead:
Its looking good, but plan on taking off the valve covers soon, it is obvious that the o-ring on the cam cover plugs are leaking.

Would love to Adam, but I hear the rest of the gang is going over for the 19th, so I'm planning on joining them. No offense.
Actually, I have a lot more work to do on it in prep for that (timing belt, fix abs, rear axles, etc, etc...), but it will be a good incentive to get the work done.

And I think this is a Ian's 308, Ian is a local 928'er. We tried to meet up but couldn't hear our cell phones with all of the awesome track noise. LOL.
