Default In which of these states can I use a radar detector?

I'm heading out in a week for an extended road trip, and I wonder if any of these states will want to alter my life for using a radar detector.

Nevada
Utah
Wyoming
Montana
Idaho
Oregon.

Any advise appreciated.

Default JUST FOR YOU . . .

Detectors are legal in all states except Virginia and the District of Columbia.
They're legal in the following Canadian provinces as well: Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.
On US military bases, they are legal to have but illegal to use.

~from somewhere on the 'net! LOL! But true...
Even legal in CT now, just not in time for my tenure there...

I trust you will be a bit 'heavy footed' in one direction over another . . .
(You've still got it in you!)

Safe Travels! And TAKE PICS!!!

Thanks for the quick responses.

Kim, you must be in a hurry, you didn't include Europe in your rundown.

Hey - I'm your 'Tupper Monkey!'
I've got 'bigger fish to fry!'

Oh yeah - here's the UN-NAMED REFERENCE for you.

You know -- kind of like those who think Wikipedia is a 'drop dead' authoritative source. . .

I'm serious about the pics... email em! And have a blast!

We'll compare notes later!

Be aware: I've been ticketed twice in Idaho based on pulsed (instant on) radar, by the time my V1 went off it was too late. Be wary if there aren't any other cars visible in front of you.

Give a hollar on your way thru, if you are near Bozeman (MT). It's right on the 90 and straight up (ie, north) from Yellowstone. I've driven thru MT, WY and ID with radar, and never heard a chirp. If you are off the main interstate, you can pretty much go as fast as you want in MT. The police stick to the main highways from my observation (altho YMMV).

Don't get too warm and happy in the arms of that radar detector as LIDAR is widely used now.

My first stop is Jackson Hole, so I haven't decided yet whether to go through SLC or Twin Falls. I'm thinking Twin Falls is shorter but SLC may be faster.

If you get as far south as Provo, you're welcome to give me a call. We've got a guest room if you need lodging - or a pretty good cook if you're hungry!

If you're not going to be passing through Provo, I can also just give you some intel on Utah roads and Highway Patrol tendencies!

Here is one, when you see the sign that says you enter Fillmore (sp?) SLOW DOWN, the entire county is run off of traffic money and therefore they hide in bushes around corners and use Laser, your detector will only let you know to pull over and wait for the cop, plus the tickets are $200-$300........

Virginia and DC are the only places I know of where it is illegal.

Make sure you use your V1 defensively. I can't say anything for any other detector or "locator", but you gotta drive smart regardless.
