I can see how they may be interrelated, but only slightly (three screws?). Without those screws, the spoiler is still hung well to the front bumper cover (on each side of the grill assy).
The only purpose for the spoiler's connection to the grill assy is to support the center of the spoiler. No necessarily laterally though, but moreso to support it from "peeling" back under the car (which could really hose up some things).
I think the grill helps keep it front tripping over itself.
So that's why I suggest something super flexible and "rubbery". The factory brackets are quite flexible when new too. Problem is they age poorly.

I would say the best choice for this, considering it's environment and application is a medium durometer (60-80) urethane (assuming the process being applies here is cast urethane). Nice and "rubbery" and resililiant to impact. May not be a strong, but those bracket aren't holding up much anyway.

Interesting idea none-the-less, which leads me to the question:
Can you glass-fill urethane?

You know what? Put me in for a set. Looks like a great design!

The material that I am currently using is a cast urethane.
77 shore D +/- 5
Flex Modulus ASTM D-790 / 184,000
Flex Modulus Thermoplastic comparison / HDPE, HI-ABS
Flexural Strength 5 0/0 strain ASTM D-790PSI / 7,000
Notched Izod Impact ASTM D-256 / 0.9
Heat Deflection Temp 66PSI 252F and 264PSI 208F
Ultimate Tensile Strenght 4,900
Elongation 12

I'm trying to get them clean up and assembled on my car so that I can show everyone a better picture of what they look like.
They are stronger!!!!
Another difference that I included was holes that could be made into slots on the bottom part of the bracket in case ( like on my car ) the lower radiator support was pushed back that the brackets could still be made to line up and still have strength to them.

When I get mine assembled and make sure everything fits right we can start a list for a group that wants them to make sure I have enough material on hand.

Cheers
Matt

I'm definitely looking forward to these...my car is in need of a new grill badly and I'd rather spend the extra money on a long lasting part than buy a part that is going to break not long after I install it. I once read a post where somebody said the bracket actually broke while being installed.

Hello Casey, they will not be extra money and I'm sure you won't break these during assembly.

I'll keep you posted.

Here are a couple of pictures of the brackets installed. I am talking to Robert Bud ( The leather shop ) to see if I can work something out with him.
I will be giving a set or two away at Sharks in Hell if anyone wants to show up for the raffle.

Cheers
Matt

Hello John,
Are you going to the picnic? I'll give you a set for helping me out with my seats.

I was going to give a set away in the raffle.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

I got mine this week and they look great. I can't wait to get them on. I just need to get some new slats first to match the quality of the brackets. I'll be sure to take some pictures when I do. Matt was great to deal with.

Thanks again Matt!
