Dear Leslie,
Very sorry about your accident and hope your okay!
Please remember, cars are replaceble, people are not. No matter how empty that might sound right now, it is the truth!
Kind regards,

Wow, thats a tough one. Do you know how fast you were going?
BTW, the no insurance thing sucks but the two of you know quite alot about these cars. It's an 84 Euro, ou will make a tidy sum parting out the car. I know thats not what you would ultimately want but right now it's the silver lining. That and the fact that no one was hurt.

That's a hard hit.
Get someone to check out your muscular/skeletal bits to make sure things weren't stretched or twisted too far out of max.

This is an odd thread.
Hang in there Leslie, keep us posted on any future plans - maybe someone has a shell lying around. It's not like you guys haven't swapped over a ton of parts from car to car before
We can rebuild her, we can make her stronger!

Hope you wake up this morning feeling a little better about things.
YOU'RE okay, husband is understanding and the car doesn't look as bad.
We're rooting for you; it's a new day.

The frame is maybe untouch... The front left wheel doesn't seam to have moved... Maybe it's only a matter of a new bumper, fender, hood, lights and a few internal thing.
Sure it's expensive, but nothing like a complete new one.
Happy you're alright. Seams to have been a big hit.

Sorry for your loss, and I am glad you seem to be OK. As others said please get checked out to be sure you are OK. Your "sore" day is coming tomorrow so be prepared.
If it helps you recall what happened, it appears you were obviously on the brakes hard for at least 20 plus feet. See skid marks from front tire going back well behind your 928.

Looking at the pics with hubby just now, we are both utterly confused as to what happened. I was travelling in the left lane, and yet my left fender is crushed, but not the right. But when I came to the stop, I was still sitting straight in my lane. The car is off to the next lane a bit, because before I realized how badly the car was damaged, I was attempting to pull it over to the side of the road, unsuccessfully. Before I had moved it 3 feet, an onlooker yelled at me to shut the car off and get out, because they saw all the fluids leaking out from under the car. Big puddle of black oil in back, and I don't know what coming out the front too.
Maybe someone did try to turn in front of me and cut me off, because the back end of the suv I hit had only sustained damage to the rear passenger side.... I wish I could remember!!
Dave, that's a good point about the skids. I didn't notice that myself.
Going to get a copy of the police report and see if that sheds any light on things.
In answer to the question, I didn't get a ticket. I don't know if anyone else did. In fact, I never saw the other people themselves, just their vehicle...they were still in their seats. I was kind of in a fog after the accident, and I ended up wandering away on foot after my car was towed. Caught a bus home...
[Edit: We have a set of fenders and a hood, so we're good there, thanks!!]
