SUPER CLEAN 86.5 just went up on ebay.
I know I said I wasn't going to post any more cars for sale, but this one struck a heartstring. It's an abnormally clean looking 86.5 burgundy on tan interior. I hope someone worthy gets it...

Engine looks good, not so sure about the rest.

The car looks OK, the interior has a few issues , the battery hold down isnt installed and the left rear sunvisor is missing, shrunken glovebox, cracked piping on the driver seat dirty carpets, scratches on the headliner/sunroof liner

yeah. agreed. It has a few flaws. Passenger speaker grill is missing. A little clean up needed. But it's in a helluva lot better shape than mine, with the bonus of low miles. Plus I love this color combo... I'd be very happy picking up this car. I placed a bid... Still hasn't met reserve.

Go for it Mike! Just make sure you do your due dilligence before finalizing the deal.
Good luck.
Most of the issues I noted were also related to the interior and a few things missing or being out of place.

I think that's a very nice color combo... Looks like the "Kiln Red" car that was advertised a few weeks ago....
(And as far as I'm concerned, don't hesitate to post cars that show up that you think might be interesting. )

It's on Autotrader as well...funny I spoke to the owner prior to this thread and he's only had it for a few months and he doesn't know much about it..

At least parts of this car have been repainted. Note the color difference between the left front fender and the door. There is also a color difference between fender and front bumper.
On the bottom of the picture of the sticker in the door jamb, you can see a dull area where they blended the new paint with the old.
That doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, but one should check the quality of the paint job, and the reason why this was done.

Yeah I noticed the paint color before I even read your post. You hit the nail on the head, it has been painted or touched up somewhere. Its a fairly clean car for a 20 plus year old, but I would go thru it thoroughly before making any decisions.

I have a carfax I ran on this 928 in July of 2007 when it was for sale, clean but a couple spots including recent years with way too few miles, and too many owners, to make me comfortable. If your serious about it, you should have Greg do a PPI.

I wouldn't spend over 4 or 5 grand on it. Even if there was a major failure, the beast is at least clean to start with. I'm happy disassembling and reassembling clean machines... It's when they are filthy pigs they are no fun. If the shoddy paint work was just done to correct paint problems, I'm ok with that. As long as the body is straight, there is no sight of TBF, and the transmission shifts smooth, It's a gold mine to me. The car will get a complete mandatory respray if I get my grubby paws on it. Even the wife is pushing me to bid more on it... We'll see....
